    Thanks Joe

always interesting to cut away and how any thing actually works it also goes to show the designers have a lot on there plate when coming up them

ther is a youtuber I watch some times I think he holds classes on the subject

and he does AR15 elevations people send in or drop off he semees to be on top of the game on rifle , with a bunch of go no go gauges and every thing needed to test parts he has alos shown worn out parts and also how a lot of new parts are out of tolerance and will not work

here is his youtube name and channel worth watching at least a couple times

    School of the American Rifle

Thanks Joe that was a very well done refresher for me since it has been almost 47 years since I was trained with an M16A1 in the 70s during BASIC Training at Fort Gordon.

If you're into PC gaming at all, and are familiar with Steam, I recommend downloading "World of Guns: Gun Disassembly". It's a simulator of sorts, that lets you take apart and reassemble all sorts of different firearms (~250 or so, but they add more frequently), and includes cutaway views, x-ray views, etc. It's very well done, IMO. The base game is free.

In my experience, the 'military' isn't a good place to learn about firearms.

Some units really didn't want the troopies to know more than the minimum required to clean their weapons. Strip 'em, lay 'em out in order, clean the parts, and put it all back together in order.
