Early to rise.
When I was younger, I hated getting up early. Not now. I left the house at 4:30 today. The thirty-mile drive to my office is much more relaxing than at eight am, and I get a lot done before anyone else is around or the phone starts.

I bet you also hated going to bed BEFORE 9pm too. ๐

Danny, I had to make the brass from 38-55 Win. The 32-40 brass, if you can find it, is outrageously priced and a real pain to โswageโ the 38-55 down to 32-40. Itโs for a buddy who takes hunters after lion.
Copper jacked one on the right is an original ,,,,,,

4:30? There was a time when I I'd just get home around that time. I don't miss those days.

I thought you were leaving the house at 4:30 PM ๐. I always liked 2nd shift & going out afterwards.

I take my day's first dose of acetomonkeypants at 4 am. Dang If I don't wake up at 3:15 and have to lie there trying to not go back to sleep for 45 minutes - and then take the pills and CAN'T get back to sleep. Have to lie there until 5 so the meds can kick in enough to allow me to hobble to the bathroom.
Then, naturally, I fall asleep at about 1 pm for an hour to catch up. I'm fine until nine after that.

Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise.
Who can finish the saying?

I leave the house at 4:45 am, every day. Hour drive to my office. I never got up early as a kid. Now I can't sleep past 5 am, even on the weekend. I'm usually out in my shop at home, no later than 5:30 on the weekends.

For 23 years, I arose around 4AM so I had time to do a few chores before heading out on the hour drive to work. Office opened @ 7AM and closed @ 3:30PM. Back home by 4:30 and out for farm work until 9 (ish) and maybe in bed by 10.
A fellow doesn't seem to age much on a schedule like that-you always feel like you're 60 years old.

I have been getting up early since I was born at 2:15 am. Usually 3:30 to 4:00 am go to bed at 10pm most nights. No naps usually, but have been known to take 15 minute one once and a while. Since most people die in bed maybe I will live longer since I don't spend mu time in bed. I told the doctor that, he sure gave me a funny look.

when I first retired I got up at 4:30 every morning as I had been going to work at 5am for years. didn't think I would ever be able to sleep in, now 5 years later I find it hard to get up earlier than 8;00 unless I have an appoitment, don't miss those early mornings one bit.....

The last 4 years before I retired, I got up at 4:45, worked from 6AM til 2PM. It took about 6 months before I could sleep til 7AM. Now, I'm up around 7 most days. Heck, now every day is Saturday!!
