    "Cardiac arrest" is too vague for any doctor to list as primary "cause of death". It's the family's way of saying, "none of your business".

    Thank you nmyers. Cardiac arrest means the heart is not beating. "Cardiac arrest" is the definition of death. Every person who dies is in cardiac arrest, whether the cause be a heart attack, or a gunshot wound. If the patient had a heart attack, and is in cardiac arrest, if he is lucky the medics will shock him, and restore the heart beat, and bring him back to life. That happens some times. Rarely.


    It is absurd to call the cause of death "cardiac arrest." It is done either by a reporter who doesn't know better, or by a doctor who is lying about the cause of death.
