Thanks for the reminder @Mr. Perfect. I also recommend some level of diligence when crossing state lines.

So, we Americans have been paying the big bill for protecting Canada for over 100 years yet a member of our armed forces has a evil black magazine in his car so he gets the third degree? Canadian Citizens should think very carefully before allowing Castro Jr. to further take them down into the sewer of tyranny.

I recall a member here years ago had trouble similar to that. Colt Super, I believe. Had a handgun confiscated, or something like that. Lived up in Eureka, MT, right near the border.

I never had much trouble with the Canadians, always polite. The US CBP seemed to like tearing my vehicle apart.

They hate their own citizens up there. (at the Soo anyway)

I don't go anymore. Plenty of fishing and hunting on this side.

I'm going to be going up there for his wedding this summer. Not looking forward to crossing, being in Canada, or any of that hassle.

I’ve driven to Alaska twice. Both times with a shotgun and the proper paperwork. In no uncertain terms the Canadian Customs officers said if they found any handgun ammo or handguns I’d basically be in the gray bar hotel. They don’t give a crap about Americans and quite honestly I think they’d rather we don’t go to their country. Unfortunately claiming ignorance of stuff in your vehicle doesn’t matter to them one bit no matter if you’re in the armed services or not. Nephew is damn lucky he didn’t get a fine or jail time for the mag.

My wife borrowed my suitcase to go to Denver last year on a trip with her girlfriends. I got a call from her on her way back, from the airport in Colorado. Seems they found six 41 magnum loaded bullets in her bag😁. She got stripped searched and questioned for several hours. Missed her flight and had to stay an extra day. Security called me and asked me about the ammo. After talking to me, they released her. It was quite the conversation when she got home!!!! At least she will never ask to borrow my bag again😉😵

In 1973 my buddy and I traveled up to British Columbia. They opened our trunk at the Canada border crossing, and they saw a Thompson Center .50 Hawken, and a .303 Enfield, and lots of ammo. The cop said "Good looking rifles! Have a good time in the Rockies boys!" And we went on our way.

    I guess times have changed.

It would be difficult for me to make a comment without invoking the politics padlock.

So I'll just weep at the designation of "loaded bullets" for .41 Mag ammo.
