Good question I await the answers as my wife had a ccl but never actually carried, her pistol is a SR-9.

Didn't Dano carry a NAA revolver taped to his thigh?

My wife has several (that are hers) to choose from.

Her EDC is a SIG P-938 - Quality, 9mm, Night sites, 1911 style, amb. safety, condition one carry, size, weight, feel, accuracy

    few of the others;

Ruger LCP .380- tiny, striker fired, snappy recoil

Ruger LCR .38- quality, small, accurate

Ruger SP 101 .357 mag, 2 1/4"- Quality, hard recoil in .357. In .38 she shoots it all day

    SIG P- 238 (?) .380- As above noted SIG except in .380

S&W EZ - getting on the large size

She considers all of my guns hers. Lately she has been carrying the Ruger LCR 9mm

Remington Woodmaster 742 30.06 when I'm in the woods. 😎

Purse/truck sidearm is a Smith & Wesson M&P Bodyguard .380 with integrated Crimson Trace laser. It fit my hand better than the Ruger LCP.

ETA: I also have a CZ-85 9mm that has a beavertail grip and a double stack 16 round mag. Long trip truck gun.

Mrsdeere doesn't carry, but ex wife carried a Derringer loaded with +P 38's. She showed me the business end, once when I came home unexpectedly.

    Started with Ruger LCP.

Now, Sig P238, with Sig Lima laser.

The Sig is way better in every aspect. Its actually fun to target practice with!

Not knocking the LCP because it was one of the first reliable brand name TINY 380s out there! It is NOT fun to practice with and has a LONG trigger pull, although they shortened it by half with the newer models.

Sig P238 is the way to go for TINY carry for small statute people! I would highly recommend it! Basically a very small version of a 1911.

My wife years ago carried a colt vest pocket 25 auto because of its small size

Latly she has been interested again since Ohio changed the law not needing a ccw and the crime rate has grown

Not sure what she will pick out i am suggesting one of the 9mm compact pistols

99% of the time we go places together and I always carry

Even my SIL over Christmas was asking what I thought would be a good pistol for her . Suprized me but same crime rates going up has her concerned

she still has a inexpensive 380 I bought like 6 or 8 of many years ago maybe 20 yrs has pased and gave as Christmas presents to some of the family

I test fired all if them and gave each one a box of round nose 380 to go with the guns all functions fine

so I was comfortable giving them one I knew the odds were almost 100% they would never get used however thery were Better than nothing and a feeling of not being helpless goes a long way

I hope you never regret the one percent you don't carry. Remember Lubys? She left it in her car.

I've got a sig 380.....it changes so frequently, so I'm certain that will change sometime soon. I'll carry something for a bit, then a friend will tell me to look out for exactly what I have and I let them buy it. I try to keep a backup thing set aside for these cases. So I have a Glock 45X 9mm on the corner of my desk right now that I haven't listed, but I plan to if I run into a better backup thing. The Glock is too big really, so I will let it go when I run into a smaller thing to set aside.

Just my two cents worth. Those little, tiny guns are cool. Right up to the time someone is trying to kill you.

Id put my sig P938 9mm or my wifes sig P238 380 up against any carry gun. Id bet my life on it!

And I do everyday. That is for everyday carry with minimal clothing. When its cooler and i can wear more clothes, i carry a 40 or 45. Bigger is always better, but these 2 tiny Sigs are VERY capable as a self defense gun!

I hear you @Ricci.Wright, although I have a Bersa Thunder.380 that I am extremely accurate with. Never felt undergunned with it. The old saying "A hit with a .22, beats a miss with a .45," comes to mind. 🤔

Having said that, the Handgun I am by far and away most accurate with, is a Browning Buckmark Micro. Definitely would not want to be shot at with it. I'd be going for noggin shots. (Loaded with Stingers.) 😮
