The battle sadly all for a pile of dirt that ment nothing, except now a forgotten moment to those brave souls who gave all that day

Hoss was my favorite character on Bonanza. If he wasn't in it, I didn't watch it.

I also respect his service. Gone too soon. RIP

Dan Blocker was the actor's name........and I didn't even have to Google it.

Lot's of TV and movie actors served in WWII and Korea.

I truly enjoyed the show even when just a kid old shows were just so much different but still entertained us with put all the special effects and profanity

But even as a kid I use to wonder why all three sons looked nothing alike

Mom must have got lonely on that big ranch just kidding but it was a bit odd

One thing any time their was fight hoss would show up to mop up the mess and save the day

Actually D\R, each of Ben Cartright's sons had a different mother.

I do not remember that each had a different mom on the show but I was very young

Then I guess the old man was hard on wife's

Yes each son had a different Mom. The mom of Hoss was a big Swedish gal about 5-11.

She caught an arrow in an Indian attack when Hoss was a little mite.

If you followed the series, all of the Cartright gang were very unlucky in love. If an engagement or actual wedding took place, the gal always died.

My thoughts on Dan Blocker being a soldier in combat is he would have made a BIG target!! Hoss was my favorite Bonanza character.

Now with all the post I will do some searching

And watch the old shows I am sure posted on one of the streaming networks

I was young and a lot of it is a bit fuzzy and details about his wifes but interested now to look back on it
