heard a couple idiots on the radio.......
wanting to make today a national holiday, as to many folks were calling off or coming in late, hungover because of the super bowl. Duuuhhhh why not blame the NFL they could just as easily play the game on saturday night, as most folks and almost all little kids have sunday off, more kids could stay up and watch and the drunks would have sunday to recover, I have never understood the reasoning for a sunday night game when saturday would be better for everyone including those traveling back home wouldn't miss a day of work.........

Well... I read today that West Virginia leads the nation in post superbowl call offs. If I could I'd post a link.

We have too many national holidays now. We should drop a few starting with president's day, MLK day, and the new one coming in June. The decline of the Roman Empire started picking up speed once the number of holidays started to apporach the number of working days.

Don't watch commercialized sports. Wife and I had our Super Bowl at Panda Express, I recommend it.

My guess is you don't watch any sports then, even little league baseball is sponsored by local business enterprises. I've been on both ends of the issue, unfortunately this world turns on money, nothing free including the TV channels we watch, even satellite TV.

I watched about 1 1/2 quarters, then watched ,Tour of Duty and Combat, the rest of the night. My two favorite shows that I tape every week.

I would add election day as a holiday if they let me be in charge for a while
I would also drop daylight savings time.

Little League is special to me. I was born in Williamsport, Pa. where it all started. I played on Hemperlys Team in '54 and '55. I knew Mr. Lindemuth who was one of the founders. ( he drove a little Crosley!!!) His nephew Charles was one of my best friends. In the off season we played ball in the actual ball park the series was held. Afterward we would climb the dike and swim Bare A-- in Lycoming creek. C'mon, Seven million bucks for a 30 second commercial in "The Big Game".
