How Did The US Not See It Sooner?
With all the surveillance equipment we have, why did the China balloon get over the CONUS and not get shot down over the Pacific as soon as it entered our air space? Something stinks to high heaven here! Or, do I need to go get my tinfoil hat?

Great question, why did Brandon allow China access to US airspace for SEVEN days????
U.S. officials first detected the balloon and its payload on January 28 when it entered U.S. airspace near the Aleutian Islands. The balloon traversed Alaska, Canada and re-entered U.S. airspace over Idaho.

Should have been dropped in the Bering Sea, and a very stern warning to the PRC that any future violations of our borders would be considered grounds for a total trade embargo!

What I can't believe is they let it get over the whole United States before they shot it down..... Sounds like Hunter had to talk to the Big Guy. "So huh Dad our bread and butter, the Chinese are sending over a Spy balloon.... Make sure you don't shoot it down until you let it get to the east coast. Don't forget I'll still be giving you your 10%."

Everyone has been flying balloons over everyone else since at least the Eisenhower era. He said it was better if everyone knew what everyone else was doing, so wars would not start over what someone was afraid someone else was doing. We fly them too. The trick is not to get embarrassed by getting one spotted.

I'll bet the farm they knew about it as soon as it was in the air. No need to make a fuss until someone spotted it over Montana. We will never know the "facts of the matter". I almost trust the Chinese more than those inside the beltway.
