I was born 2 days after the crash so I don't remember it but I have enjoyed all their music for as long as I can remember.

I would imagine your Father is missing you also, mine passed about 44 years ago while I was in transit to new duty station in Germany, never got to say goodbye.

I still enjoy their music. A shame they were lost too soon,

Was at Italian restaurant with my wife and waitress told us Elvis had just passed away. Overheard by others and they wondered why my wife was crying. Many of the women were crying also. My wife was a wreck and I had to literally carry her home. They all affect us so much. --------------------------Ray

I was listening to Buddy Holly's greatest hits in the truck last week.....

Sad they were all lost way too soon...

I imagine Waylon Jennings was haunted by that event the rest of his life..

My parents had the 50's music playing all the time, in their Italian restaurant. I was always partial to classic country and the Big Band era. Loved the Mills Brothers.

The only reason I knew the story behind Jennings giving up his seat, was because I was a big fan of his growing up.

Didn't Patsy Kline also die of a plane accident at an early age?

Yep, not sure of her age but it happened in the early 60’s

Always slide one of Patsy's disk in player when I pass thru Winchester headed north from Fluvanna County, Virginia. Pretty sure that was her home town. She was my favorite along with Hank.--------------------Ray

I truly like John Denver when I was in high school and he helped me get more than a few dates as a lot of the girls said I looked like him ( I did not see it other than I had real long blond hair and glasses) but hay it worked out great for me ,

sure honey call me john if you like 😍 😁

not to speak bad of the dead I did enjoy his music

I seen a program on him I never realized how much of a drug and alcohol problem he had and he did seem a bit left leaning I will say . all that was before I even cared about politics

and the experimental plane he was killed in

    RIP John πŸ˜₯

you gave me a lot of memories and I mean a lot πŸ˜‹ of memories

leonard skinner was another band who a plane crash took out most of them

Thay also have a special place in my memory one of the few bands I ever got to see live. live on free bird

sad we lose so many to crashes, but I also think of the countless people who we never heard of they die every day in similar events only know to a handful of people.

I was about 23 when I was given an 8 track tape of Waylon. I was an Outlaw Country fan from then on.

I have as many others thought how fate a coin toss and just trading places changed history in just a few minutes

But I guess this how it will always be a fast decision a phone call a favor for a friend flip of a coin and life changes

Really proves how fragile our life's are

    may they all RIP

I am sure if possibe mabe they do ? be amazed at the legacy they left for us in the short life's they lived

Yep, maybe that red light, dead truck battery, road flagman, traffic jamb, missed flight, rain storm, telephone call, appointment cancellation actually saved your life by changing your schedule with fate. I never get upset over delays anymore.

I do not know if this is true or not, but I did read a story that claimed Waylon's last words to Buddy Holly as they were getting on that plane were; "I hope your plane crashes!"

If he did actually say this, I'm pretty sure he was just joking around, but living with such a memory after the fact sure would be a heavy load to carry!

I have heard that many times over the years

As you say it was mentioned as just a poke at them for flying

And I am sure as you also stated if true no matter it would be a tough thing to carry with you for life
