I have never seen a set of Michelins that weren't over rated. Nothing in their lineup has ever interested me.

Glad you were able to find what I hope is an adequate replacement. We bought my sister-in-law a Cavalier that she drove the heck out of for 14 or 15 years until she passed away a couple of years ago. Her maintenance record was extremely poor but that little car just kept plugging away. I don't know when was the last time I saw another one on the road because our road salt up here in Michigan has probably eaten them all up. Bob

I have run Michelins on the diesel 2003 Silverado since the factory tires came off.

    No problems 2nd set @ 250k miles.

I got good mileage out of Michelin, but they ridetoo hard and are noisy. I like Hankook and Goodyear Wranglers are ok so far.

The Michelin Defenders I have on my Toyota Highlander are the best tires I've ever owned. They are quieter, ride better, pull better, brake better, and turn better than the OEM tires that were on it when I bought it used. I doubt if they'll ever need replacing by me, but if they do and I can't get them, I might look at Coopers.

I stay with a name brand and stay observant to see what's on other vehicles of same make/model. Check reviews.

Goodyear bought Cooper Tire Co. last year. I retired from CT almost 11 years ago after 33 years, GY has kept those retirement checks coming, thank goodness!

General's are American made. I have owned some in the past. (General Grabber AT2's.) They rated very high. Good value for the $$ IMHO.

Currently have BF Goodrich KM3's on my Jeep. I will more than likely replace them with the same when/if they wear out. Voted "Best Off Road Accessory of the Year," when they came out. 😁

General Altimax is a good tire. I think you will be pleased with them.

I have Michelin Defenders on my Silverado, they are a great tire (and not over rated at all), quiet and great traction.

I have run Michelin tires on every vehicle (4 wheeled) I've ever owned except for back in the hot rod days and have never had an issue of any type, they also seem to last forever.

I just put a third set of Kumho tires on my Grand Cherokeee, first 2 sets ran over 55,000 each set so I figure this set will be good, Jeep has 223,800 miles

The only tires I've put on my car and instantly knew it was a bad move were Hankook tires.

It was the Traverse, 20" tires...brand new and the car skittered or whatever you call it when I started to move.....it slid a little instead of moving when I gave it gas. I wasn't trying to take off fast or anything, just driving like normal.

I won't buy Goodyear for the politics. Michelin has been my "go to" for tires so far without any drama. They seem to cost more though. I hope I don't have to find another brand becaue I know all I want to about tires at this time.

my mechanic recommended Falklan tires. I got a set of all terrains for my truck, they look pretty agressive but are as quiet as a street tire on the highway, my only negative is they cost me about 3-4 miles per gallon, but are supposed to be 50,000 mile tires. I also put a pair on my wifes suv they are 70,000 mile tires and so far about 6 months on each set no problems.......
