Back in the day......I built "The Rock" for about 30 bucks.

I used two lengths of laminate shelving for the top.........and braced/reinforced the bottom with sections of 2x4's, to help eliminate any flex. The legs are 2" conduit, threaded into angled flanges and cross drilled for a cheater bar(that stores in clips on the table bottom).

BTW......it can use 3 or 4 legs......and I store the top in an old leatherette luggage bag/cover.

    Here's an old fuzzy picture.

Makes a good light portable bench for sure! I've been looking for an old antique wooden ironing board for the same usage. A friend has one that he uses at his backyard range and it works well for him.

Isn't that what the wife and kids are for, just rest the rifle on their shoulder and shoot, if he kids are short enough you can even sit down while shooting. they gotta earn their keep somehow........

SeaBees---"Can do!" I have a few stories that might get me in trouble even after 53 years!

A little more than 5 dollars, but I had most of the stuff lying around.

I don't think mrsdeere even owns an ironing board.

Google wire spool shooting bench. That is how I made mine for little or nothing.

Looks great! Good use for the Ford axle housings! I have some I use for Jack stands.

Ill watch for the axel housings, I used a piece of wood and the axels would be better.

    Nice idea

I have built a few over the years but the weather takes it toll along with a few Picknick tables

I usually have a lot of scrap lumber to build one out of a coupe input some real effort they looked good and worked but mother nature did them in also

I have wanted to just do one in cement and get it over with maybe the next one

It can become a family airloom lol

Sounds like a shooting bench for a woman if you ask me.

I found this as a church tag sale for $5. The guy referred to it as a funny table?? I couldn't grab it quick enough. It sits on a covered porch outside my work shop.

    I don't recall anyone asking.

Here's an older/better picture of my shooting table.

The rifle is my old 40XBR 17 Javelina..........shot the barrel out, after about 4000 rounds, as a full 7 inches of the rifling was GONE!!😬

When I rebuilt the rifle, the only thing that stayed was.........the action(with new trigger). 😊

Well, that's something folks should be doing.

There was a free ironing board the other day... The last thing I thought of was a shooting bench. 🤪

Well, next time you see one, it will be the first thing you think of!
