Henry Tribute Rifles.
Don't get me wrong, I like the Henry rifles. Wasn't a big fan, until I shot one of their 22's. I want one with the octagon barrel. Anyway, What they did to some of their tribute guns, IMHO, they ruined them. Black stocks and paintings, on the stocks and forearms. The one for Texas has these raised stars, and looks like a cheap toy, or , Worl Class Joe, got his hands on it. Why Henry ever thought these guns would appeal to a collector, is beyond me. I think they should have just left it at the scroll work on the receivers, and called it a day.

Somebody likes them, they are going fast. My Henry .22 is the smoothest action of any gun I own.

I've always steered away from the commemorative firearms some of the Winchester's I thought they went overboard on also

I bought a Winchester Centennial '66. Haven't gotten around to shooting it yet, probably never will.

Agreed. The engraving work looks nice on so many of their guns (American Beauty, Silver Eagle, personalized versions). The tributes look corny and poorly thought out.

commemoratives, like new cars, lose value if they are taken from the box to admire. Shoot one, and it becomes a used rifle. Fine if you want to be shooting your Crazy Horse '94, it is yours. That said I have seen sellers at shows with stacks of commemoratives in battered boxes the have been hauling around for years, still asking inflated prices for what are now non-collectables. Never bought one myself.

Agree. I like my Henry without any bedazzling

Sisters of my farmer buddy were at a total loss as to a present for his 60th birthday.
I suggested the Henry ‘Tribute to the Farmer’ ,,,,,,, he was ecstatic. It will never be shot but occupies a prominent place in his den,

One like that, @forgemonkey , is well done and I do not consider it gawdy. They knew when to stop. I like it.
Engraving? Some is ok, but for my likings most are way over blinged out.

I am a lever gun fan, and I know that Henry makes some nice quality guns. However, I have never been able to warm to any "Henry" simply due to the fact that they stole the name of the original Henry of the 1860s simply to attract interest to their products.

I have the Golden Boy 22 and that is as gaudy as I got. The gun shoots exceptionally well. I shoot in a 22 league and I shot better patterns with iron sites then some guys with scopes.

That is called marketing. Remember when Winchester became USRAC? They still called their products Winchester. Triumph motorcycles are now built in Asia. And so it goes. Hmmm, after being pedantic, I realize I don't own any either, but because somehow they look cheap to me.

For some reason I collect Shriner memorabilia. When I walked into the gun store and saw this, I had to get it. It’s a beautiful rifle!
