I worked with a guy who would top any story with tales from his army sniper days. Like the qualification course where he had to shoot 1 inch groups at 1000 yards.

A guy in Alaska told me he shot a moose with a 7MM mag at 700 yards, offhand. When I asked where he sighted in he said 100 yards on a paper plate. I asked where he shot the moose, he replied in the neck. I asked where he held to make the shot, he said right where the bullet hit.

Me thinks his range estimation was a we bit off.

I don't think there's advice topping this for being bad:

    For home protection:

    Go out onto the balcony.

Fire two blasts from your double barrel shotgun (which is not only basically illegal, now you have an empty gun).

And the topper is the position of authority. Biden was the Vice President of the United States, the second highest office in the country, and he is giving this bad advice.

In the local store there was a guy bragging to the sales guy about shooting 1" at 500 yards on a cold windy day with his AR-15 with the <blah blah blah...tactical BS...etc etc etc...expensive add-on...blah blah>.

When he was finally done, I stepped up to the sales counter. I grinned and I told the sales guy I wanted to see every gun he had that can shoot 1" at 500 yards. The sales guy, without missing a beat, said "That guy over there can help you."

The air force "sniper" with the rifle which was electronically keyed to only his fingerprints . That way no one else could steal and use his rifle. His feats of marksmanship were the stuff legends are made of .

9mm will blow a lung out of the body. Try that with a .45.

At a home expo the water softener guy was telling people that they needed the cleanest water because the human body absorbs 2 gal of water during a shower. I mentioned that since 2 gal of water weighs 16.5 lbs, NO woman would ever take a shower and do people really fall for this BS. (Yeah, I'm a real people person.) He wasn't happy.

I would wager a lot of people have never seen a ruger 44 mag rifle

And at a glance they do look like a 10-22

1st one I seen many many years ago

I was one of the dummys i had no idea they made them

I Seen a crazy price on a ruger I thought was a 10-22 at the end of a table .so I had to look

I Picked it and learned something new

I don't remember the price but should have bought it lol

I've interrupted and told some of them BSer's that they have something brown on their lip, while looking them in the eye.

When they start trying to wipe it off I then tell them "nevermind it's not going to come off it's permanent BS"
