Closest I can relate to that is my belted 7mm Remington magnum, apples/oranges.

I don't think any of the major manufacturers ever loaded for it and only 1 or 2 ever made brass for reloading. There are a couple of smaller outfits that make loaded ammo but it is a bit pricy. When you posted the link about the one you were bidding on I assumed you were going to load for it or I would have warned you in advance to pick an XP in a more common caliber. Bob

I can handle $3 a round for the amount I plan on shooting it. Just glad to hear it's still available. (Can you post a link to the ammo site you discovered?) @BobJudy.
The listing is somewhat confusing. It initially talks about the 7mm Remington BR (and that is what is marked on the barrel.) Later on in the listing, it talks about .223. I sought clarification from the Seller. I pretty much knew what the answer would be, being the barrel is marked that way and looking at the cut out on the top of the barrel shroud where you load the round.
My initial bid was based on the .223 round, but after reading up on the 7mm Remington BR, I am intrigued.
Buying the gun to shoot some, but primarily as an investment piece. (And ) For the quality and uniqueness. A work of art.
*The 7mm Remington BR, reminds me of the 6.5 Grendel.

the 7mm BR (bench Rest) is a 'take-off; of the 6mm Br (it's self a take-off of the .22 PPC. it can be a very accurate cartridge and should be reloaded for top accuracy. good luck on the auction.

Always wanted on of these, but was never a big fan of the Zytel stock (akin to the Nylon 66.) This one spoke to me.

Mike, the BR's are based on a shortened 308 case and the PPC's are based on the 7.62 x 39. slightly different base size and case.

I realized my previous Max Bid was probably not going to take it, given the final 2 hour flurry I expect. I want this, so I upped my bid to reflect that. We'll see how that plays out towards 8pm.

I realize the br's are based on the .308 case (with small primer pocket) but the principal is the same as the ppc

Congrats on the win. I am sure you will like it. I always liked the zytel stocks on the nylon 66 but they were easy to scratch.

One thing about XP-100 handguns.........
ALWAYS wear double hearing protection......as in ear plugs AND muffs.....VERY GOOD ones!! 🤯

Don't have die, but I do have 7mm/08, 284 .308, and 7mm mag. Have 7mm bullets and .308, 7mm/08 brass, and a RCBS power trimmer. I am sure we can make something close enough to fire form. I have several weight of hammers to.😁

Might be easier to rework 7mm/08 than the IHMSI. This wildcat started out as .300 savage, but then the 300 savage started from a 250 savage, the 250 savage started from 30/06. Back to 308 or 7mm/08 brass fro roll your owns.

while I don't have the reloading dies, I do have a spoon, funnel and a big hammer, I can reload those for you if you want........

As another here said though, (Mr. Perfect or Montanajoe, not sure which.) "A Man has to know his limitations."
Years ago, left behind in a house we had just bought up here in the Mtns. (Senior year In High School) someone had left behind a reloading rig/set up. One of life's regrets, that I did not learn about it all back then and take it up. 🤔😐😞
*I had already joined the Army (at 17) via the Delayed Entry Program, already knew I was going in, upon Graduation. I was kinda pre-occupied.

Ken, 7mm IHMSA is a totally different cartridge. Would need to find a set of 7mm BR dies to form those larger cases. More work than it's worth.

I'm gonna need a few boxes. I have a minimum threshold for any new caliber I aquire. This one is going to be more difficult.

84, Mike Davis in Zionville might be of some assistance. He may have what you need. Pretty sure he could make you a custom hand held die that would work. Might not be cheap. All he would need is a few fired rounds to size the dies to.
I have a .220 swift that I use hand dies for loading.
Top notch gunsmith. Holds several several long range tophies and some of his clients do to. Google his name. Pretty sure is is a fan of the 6BR.
I have a custom .243 that he made for me.
