Slow improvement day by day. I can now turn over in bed without pain and even put my socks on. I got out of the house twice yesterday, to Walmart and then Lowe's, but that overtaxed me. No outside walking today in this rain. I may try to see if the treadmill has a "hobble" setting, LOL!

Speaking of water...You know why the mermaid wore sea shells?

Because B shells were too small.

Slow and steady wins the race, or so I've heard. Glad to hear you're mostly pain free.

Mostly. Waiting on an appointment with a hip guy to see if a replacement is in the future for the arthritis they found. Having both hip and sciatic go bad on the same side is a booger.

Hope you continue to heal up quickly sir.

Oh, I don't think that quickly is in the cards, Mr P. Doc says six months - and that's just for the back. If I need a new hip also, well...

I am reconciled to giving up golf, but my real concern is that I may not be able to use my boat to fish at all this year. It basically sat most of last year due to disastrously low water in all our lakes, so missing another one will be bad for it. Mechanical things that don't get used go sour in a hurry.

Well, I got humbled by the treadmill yesterday. Got it running at 1.5 mph which was a bit faster than I can normally hobble and managed just 0.2 mile before I had to quit. And then was wrecked for the rest of the day.

No pain no gain, they say. So I'm going to attempt to match that again today.

Slow but steady wins the race. Glad you are making "some" progress. My old doctor, that sadly retired, recommended taking an nsaid a half hour before doing exercise. I would still be a bit stiff and sore but recovered faster than if I waited to take them afterwards. Best of luck with your recovery and keep plugging away, you'll get there. Bob
