    Yes,

It is now a precision rifle in 6MM BR with a shilen 7-1/2 twist heavy barrel shooting 105 grain A-maxes into little holes at long distances.

    Bidding on this just now.

I'd Really Like to have it. πŸ‘πŸ˜

*Kinda hesitant to post. (Like in my Bidding on a Firearm thread.) Hope I'm not inviting counter bids. (And) No, that is not even close to my Max bid.

I don't own one but have shot a couple years ago. Both were in 221 and not surprisingly recoil was very minor. I wondered at the time why they didn't build it with a left hand bolt. I was shooting at metallic silhouettes from the Creedmore position, flat on my back with the gun resting against the outside of my right thigh. It seemed awkward to change hands to work the bolt and reload. I settled on a TC Contender instead. Other than that, the guns shot well and both had surprisingly good triggers. Bob

    Thanks Bob.

My thinking was also why not a left hand bolt?

My further thinking led me to believe/think that if you are Right handed, you are going to want to handle and insert the new round with your predominant hand anyway. Requiring you to change grip in any case.

I have an XR100 in .223. Does that count?

That is what I am bidding on @Merlinnv12. (XP100, not an XR100.)

    Nice. πŸ‘πŸ˜

I've read, that multiple Rifles came about, because of the XP100.

Anyone look at the link I provided?

Muzzle blast seems to rattle the ears.

Think it was maybe called a 221 fireball caliber.

It was, then they lengthened the barrels on the later models. (11"-14")

Ken, just in case you're not up to date about what Merlin said about the XP/XR models. XP is the standard, single shot model and XR is the repeater model.

No, sir. My XR100 is a single shot, bolt action .223 rifle.

No, sir. My XR100 is a single shot, bolt action .223 rifle.

Interesting, i thought the R always designated the repeater model...

Nope. The R is for rifle and the P is for pistol!

Slight confusion on my part. The repeater is the XP 100R...

I think Remington dropped production in 1998 after a year, for a reason.

I have the XP-100R (repeater) in 260 Remington and also the XR 100 single shot rifle in 223. The XP 100R pistol has good accuracy and the XR 100 has exceptional accuracy. I can cover a nickel with 10 shots at 100 yds with Sierra Match Kings in the XR 100, one ragged hole. Nice heavy barreled rifle with a wide fore end for bench shooting. I have shot a couple of the original XP 100 in 221 Fireball and really liked them. These were fine pistols and I wouldn't mind having one if it was available at the right price.

40 years ago I had a Remington XP100 in .221 Fireball. I put a 5x Burris scope on it, and it would consistently shoot .75" groups at 100 yards. I shot crows with it out to 135 yards.

Man, the XP100 field is all over the map. Zytel stock vs. wood/synthetic stocks, caliber, scope/no scope, sights/no sights, price point, bidding action.

    It's crazy.

One similar (but not as nice IMHO) to the one I'm bidding on just became available. $1200'ish BIN. No play thus far, but just showed up. A 1965 in orig. configuration just showed up that is getting a lot of play. (10.5" vented rib barrel, .221 Fireball w/original Zytel stock.) Another fairly plain Wood thumbhole stock in .308 just showed up. That has promise. Another is a .223 w/synthetic stock and 15" barrel that just showed up that also has promise.

The field, configuration and bidding interest, is all over the map.

Always like/wanted one. I'm in hard on one I like. 5 hrs to go.

    Woo Hoo......................................................😁
