The rules about images of currency have certainly changed since the 80s. When I worked in a gun shop the boss sometimes glued a quarter on the floor for laughs. One of these bills might make an even funnier prank left somewhere with a video camera watching.

Used to attach a dollar bill to a fishing line and give it a jerk just before someone picked it up. Young kids were the most fun, we used to give them the bill after a few trys.

Yeah, in our "Bootery," in the Store I helped manage, there was a 1/2 dollar glued down on one of the plexiglass shelves that would hold random footwear.
It was always funny to watch. 😁
It was there for about 15 years. (I was there for 23.)

I thought they out lawed it too many people and places getting hustled
but maybe they just wanted too and never got it done
as a very young fellow about 8 or 10 yrs old when visiting family there was a old back woods mom pop shop store in Tennessee , they had a nickel nailed down to the floor just a couple feet from the counter. I remember dad always point to it to get us kids to try get it
I am sure every kid in the area had tried at least once to pick the nickel up .
the string trick reminds me of married with children when Al took bud to the strip club 1st time with a dollar with a string tied to it LOL
if too much just delete but was on regular TV

I have silver soldered roofing tacks to many quarters and 50 cent pieces over the years.. There was 4 or 5 dollars worth nailed to the old wood floor at the neighborhood country store.
