When we used to do a **** ton of Backpacking trips in the Catskills, we'd be out 2-4 days on a regular basis. Volunteer DEC Rangers at the Balsam Lake Mtn Firetower and Cabin. (That we spent years rebuilding and prepping out.) Had keys to use it whenever we wanted. We did. 👍😁 Lot's of Winter trips, snowshoeing in by headlamp.

On the way home, about 10-15 mi. from our Trail head was a Wendy's. We'd hit that on the way home and carbo load.

I'd always get Wendy's Chilli with cheese and onions, some hot sauce to put in it, baked tater w/sour cream, butter and chives, burger etc. Chow down.

We have no Wendy's anywhere close by. I used to love to get a nice container of chili from them. I will look for their canned item.

Yes, Chilli has beans. (Unless your using it on hot dogs.) 🤔😉😂🤣

There's chili and then there's chili with beans added. It's that simple. Nalley's cans it up both ways, bless their hearts.

In Texas and in chili contests, adding beans is a capital offense.

Note that without beans, it is still chili. But without chili, it's just beans.

@Rocky Raab -That should go down in the annals of great truths of all time!🤔 Bob

The last time I got a chili and a baked potato at Wendy's, it was almost $8.

The high cost is because it has beans. 🙃😁

Fortune cookies can give wisdom. Why can't a Baconator?

Due to regulations on chemical warfare, I think that combo was determined to be a war crime and outlawed by the Geneva Convention.

It's been a while but we would go to Wendy's and get a burger and chili and we liked it

as for beans for many years I thought as many aperently all chili had beans except the type used on hot dogs . But growing up mom used the one with beans on hot dogs also

    Speaking of chili

Any one eat skyline it's a Cincinnati Ohio based restaurant but they sell their chili in stores also

I hate the stuff they add sugar or some sweetener and to me it taste terrible

It's very popular my oldest son likes it as do untold thousands of customers

    To each their own ifuess

My son tells me in Cincinnati their is more that a few chili places with their own style chili

IIRC, Cincinnati "chili" has cinnamon in it. It's a local aberration. These days, people cook up almost anything in a pot and call it chili. But that's like calling Lia Thomas and Michelle Obama women.

To pun it, they don't know beans about chili.

I won't eat Wendy's chili, they take leftover burgers and crumble them into the chili. Your eating leftover burgers when you eat a Wendy's chili. But I do like their sea salt fries if they still have them.

    But they're SQUARE burgers.

    Yep

1st time you eat the chili you can see the hamburger Patty's

I am sure they would argue its not left over but fresh Patty's just chopped up for the chili

But it hasn't killed me off yet

It's all the things in food we don't know about that concerns me lol

Like the taco bell story froma few years back they would use the lowest grade of beef and what others would not buy to make up their basic meat fillers

Anyone who has a phobia about what's in their food had best stop eating altogether because there is no such thing as pathogen-free food. That's why we have immune systems.

    84, there is a Wendy's in Boone.

    Never have tried Wendy's chili.

Yes "eatin" chili has beans and hamburger.

Not so for hot dogs and chili burgers, no beans I think would be OK.

I like Wendy's chili and have the recipe to make it at home when I want it. Oh, and there are two beans in it, light red kidney and pinto.

    That’s the best part!

I fail to see the issue. If you bought meat yesterday and made chili with it today, you used a "leftover" didn't you?

  • dreher

If you buy ground beef from a grocery store you are using "leftover" meat even if you take it straight home to cook it

Do you have any idea how many days ago that "fresh" ground meat you are buying was ground?? You want fresh ground meat you need to buy your own meat grinder!! Hot Momma will grind chicken breasts, add all kinds of herbs and seasonings and grill up the best "burgers" ever!!

Truly fresh means (Sorry Ted) kill it and grill it!!
