    I wouldn’t charge it and I wouldn’t pay it.

    What Ricci and Kevin said.

Is the seller stating such in his auctions, or trying to lay that on you after you have won?

Since you mention that you'd never do that, I'm guessing that it's an item that you're looking at. As a seller, I'm not sure how they could add in the extra charge, unless they included it in the shipping cost or something that was an "actual" charge that wasn't listed as a fixed price in the auction.

As you mentioned, you're in charge of the bidding, and if it's an actual auction, I'd forget about it..

I don't know the rules....but if they have it listed in their sales it would be something that is disclosed ahead of time and totally up to you to pay if you bid on it knowing this was happening.

I don't see the logic in complaining about something that is up front. Its like seeing the rain pouring down, walking out into it and then harping on about how wet you are.

So long as it is disclosed ahead of time.....but if it isn't then you have every right to be upset.

Uh…don’t like it, but factor it in and bid accordingly.

I pay that to my dealer when I sell on consignment, but have never paid it or been asked to when buying.

I'm not complaining about as much as looking for opinions on it. It is posted in the description and for the 23 years on here I've never seen this in any auction.

Yep. If the seller is upfront about it, I might bid but I'm factoring that cost into my bid. Ergo: dumb on the seller's part to do it. I guess there are suckers though, so...
