Teaching my daughter self preservation
A couple of days ago there was an armed robbery on campus not 5 minutes from where my daughter currently lives. It’s Boulder Colorado which means only the criminals are armed. Don’t get me started….
She and I talked about the incident and I’m happy to say she’s got a good head on her shoulders and had already understood the advice I gave her yet again.
1 do not be a hero. Get away from danger as fast as possible.
2 don’t stop moving until you are certainly safe. Then call 911.
3 then call me so I can hear your voice.
she gets it. And for that, I am glad. But I don’t envy her the world she’s going to grow old in.

I have a friend who has been going to the VA hospital in Denver. Has be careful where he parks and doesn't want to stay overnight in a hotel... Finally told him to stay in the Hoptel so he could keep his truck in the parking garage😓 who knew? These cities going liberal is. Most of my great grandfather's siblings were born in Bolder.

Sad the politicans and courts have forsaken the Victoms and do all they can for the criminals
I can't even watch the news with out getting up set Anymore
several times if not more a week They will announce known bad guy or gal was caught (or not still on the run) robbing or assault for the tenth time this month and let go again.
It will never happen but every judge and DA who give free passes or some smack on the wrist to the thugs
Should be held accountable for all crimes the released thug does and share their sentence handed down by a real court

Do you need a license to carry pepper spray in CO?
I gave my wife a small canister that she carry’s in her purse. If she is by herself at night in a place that I can’t be with her she always has that in her hands plus car keys.

No license required for pepperspray. When I told my daughter I was gonna get her a can of pepperspray, she said she already had one. I hope she's never in a situation where she has to draw and use it.
And I agree with you 100%, @Ditch-Runner . The gunfree zones are nothing more than "shoot here" zones. The guy who committed the crime in Boulder was a repeat offender. What a surprise, yeah?

Brother, the violence in America is unreal and until the conversation switches from "guns need to be eliminated" to the actual problem "criminals need to be eliminated" the violence will only increase.
