The one rifle you can't live without
For me, it's my old Winchester 94 30-30. Made in 1973, it's not even the most sought after of 94s but it is definitely the last rifle I'll ever part with.
Compared to a 223, it's not as accurate and ammo is a lot more expensive. It doesn't have the greatest of range and can only deal with iron sights. All in all, it's kinda limited but I don't care. I love the sound it makes and the kick it gives me when I pull the trigger. Puts a smile on my face every time.
How about the rest of you? Which is your 1 and only rifle?

'74 vintage Model 70 in .270 Win.
Got lots of other rifles, but when it absotively posolutely needs shot that's the gun I grab.

one of my newer ones, marlin 1895, 357 lever action, take down deer size game at 100 yards, and with 38 plink all day and though a bit big for squirrell and rabbit it would still get the job done. between me and the grandkids I bet we have put 2500 rounds through it in the last five to six years.....

For universal use, it would have to be the first one I bought, back in '74 or so. It's a Rem 788 in .308. For mice to moose, it'd be hard to beat. The other one I'll never sell is my Browning Micro-Medallion Hornet. They only made it for a couple years, and mine is the third one they made. (The first of every model goes into their museum, and the second one went to some other person they would not name to me. I was the first writer to get one.)

My Sears .22 single shot rimfire. It's usually by the back door with .22 short bullets nearby. Don't know how many squirrels and rabbits I've dispatched with it. I even eliminated a Redtail hawk that was after my chickens.

I can't do it, I just can't do it!
Been sitting here for a half hour going over my inventory and can't pick one. A few were my dad's and I wouldn't want to part with those. Most of the rest have memories attached like the 94 that I took my first Michigan whitetail with. I used to travel to some of the western states and there are 1/2 dozen rifles associated with deer/antelope hunts that bring back good memories. I have way too many varmint rifles but holding any of them brings back thoughts of fun trips with friends and decimating a bazillion prairie dogs.
It's kind of like asking a parent which kids they could do without! I just can't pick one rifle. I know it's a sickness, but I have spent the last 50 years or so with it and there is no cure. Bob

Browning BAR in 7mm mag. Just too many memories with this one to ever let it go.

Yep, Win 94 in 30-30.
Wife has one that was her dads. She got her first deer on her first hunt with it.
I did a post quite awhile ago and included many pictures of it. I asked Bert to appraise it. He pointed out the good and bad. Turns out the high value of it is held with us. Otherwise it's aprx. $500. Still a shooter,still a treasure.

I would have a hard time getting rid of my Savage 17HMR and my Remington XR100 in .223. Both were tack drivers right out of the box and vaporized countless sage-rats.

Like Bob........I would have a hard time trying to choose between all my coyote and PD rifles. Tough choices......all.
Having said that.......I expect I'd look past them.......and towards my grandfather's Win. Model 61 22 S-L and LR.......Octagon barrel.

When deer season comes around I always wonder which gun I should use to dispatch a deer but when it comes down to it, I know when I need to take a deer I always grab my Weatherby Accumark 7mm Rem Mag.
Also the one I grab when I have to accurately shoot something at a longer range.

My dads Mossberg 44us, first firearm I shot.

The hawk had already made a dive on my chickens. I grabbed the .22 and caught him up in an oak tree. DRT.

Maybe it was just another bird that self identifies as a red tailed hawk. Was it drinking a Bud Light?😊 Bob

I'm with you @Kevin_L I had a 94 in 30-30, first real rifle I ever bought, but lost it during some rough times, replaced it with a newer 94 in 44 mag which is my go to gun for most things and don't plan on ever letting it go.

I love my old Savage 29B pump, small, light and deadly accurate. My second choice would be my Marlin 1894 in .44 magnum.

My sporterized 1903-A3 with two groove barrel. When it goes bang the bullets go where I wanted them to go.
