Spaying an older dog

She'll be fine. Just keep her from lickin' the incision for a few days and try to keep her calm. Keeping a border collie down and calm long enough to heal up is going to be the hardest part of the whole journey!

    Good luck, Flogger's Dog!

    Don't spay lol I have 2 studs.

I'm sure she will be fine.... During the years of Pug rescue we spayed many older dogs. They were always fine. Just let her stay at the vet as long as they will let her ❤️❤️

Lad and Bobby send there best 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Here's the pup we are getting in a couple of weeks.❤️ also a male

Vet said Storm was fixed , but a few weeks later she went in to heat.

Waited for that to go it's way. Had to rethink her age, about 3-4 years. Vet thought she was 1-2. We are getting a new VET

Taking her n tomorrow to get spayed. At the new Veterinarian ($75.00 discounted rate for Veteran).

Storm is not going to be happy, for a few days.

My dog isn’t fixed & I took him to some yuppie dog sitter once when going out of town.

When I picked him up, we got a lecture on how important it is to fix him.

When I asked why, she said to prevent him from getting cancer.

I replied, “maybe we should remove your brain so you don’t get brain cancer”.

Don’t ya just love how some folks turn into absolute jerks when they are given just a drop of authority

Storm went in at 7 am. yesterday and I picked her up at 2pm.

She was lazy most of the afternoon, and I gave her some pain meds as prescribed. She is laying down a bit more,

Today almost back to her old self, barking at the school buses and greeting visitors to the shop with a good bark or two.

Need to restrict her from up and down the stairs to the house (if I can).

    Good looking dog @hoosier.

My Rescue (Buddy) had to be taken back in about a week or two after I brought him home, to be Neutered (per the Rescue protocol) they usually do not let you take them home prior. He had had an eye and respiratory infection. (I took him home with anti-biotics.) They couldn't do it on his 1st visit. He was gone for a couple days down to Asheville. It broke my heart to take him in and leave him. He was howling. (He thought I was taking him back/leaving him where I got him.) He was estimated to be 9 mo. old at that time.

When I came back to get him, he was leaping in the air. Giving me nose bumps. The Rescue team said, "I think that dog likes you."

Me? I dont believe I would have been quite so chipper, after going through the "Procedure."

Rescue dogs are the best. 👍

Kudo's to you (and other's.) For getting a dog out of a bad situation.

We looked for a dog in all the shelters near us all they had were pit and pit mixes we both grew up with Shepard and collie dogs. So we bought for the first time and are glad we did.
