What An Absolutely Gorgeous Day -
Around 72° goes from dead calm to very slight breeze. Lucky enough to be off today. The absolute nicest weather day, I have experienced so far this Spring.
Stting here in the living room, with all the house doors/windows open, listerning to all the Mountain Pond sounds out back. My entire back wall, (3 story, extremely steep pitched Mountain A-frame) is 3 stories of Glass Panels. Buddy Chelaxing on the back deck on his runner. Just Beautiful out.
Looked at long range weather forcast, back down to 28°-30° by Monday night.

Lucky you. We are having more than enough April showers this week. I mentioned in another post that I had cut up and hauled all of the winter/ice storm tree debris to the burn pile. Of course the state instituted a burn ban so I couldn't let my pyromaniac wife start the fire. Now we have gone from a few days of 80 degree temps to 50's and rain and it is now too wet to burn.
Last years drought left the pond almost 2 feet low and algae and weeds grew in the then temporary shallow water. This year the overflow has been running continuously for the last 6 weeks because we have so much water. I now have so much green stuff in the pond that it looks like you could walk across it. The water has to be at least 60 degrees for the weed/algae killers to work and I thought last week with the high temps we were going to get there. No such luck and it has actually gotten cooler again this week. So out one side of the house I see a green mess of a pond and out the other side crappy looking piles of unburned brush. AAARRGGHH!!! Our spring fed Mtn. Pond, has never gotten anything close to algae on it. It has good/strong water flow. Has a creek running out of it. I was just out back gazing at it, again. It was one of a few things that sold me on the property and my decision to purchase it.
Just beautiful.
Stocked with Rainbow/Brown Trout. Loaded with Bluegill. When the light is right, in the evening, you can see just how many fish are in it. (It's 32' deep.) A hidden gem, in our neighborhood. Most folks have no clue it is here. Express surprise when on our Property.

Absolutely beautiful around here. Dogwoods and Redbud blooming. All kinds of wildflowers. Grass is growing like crazy. Warm days, cool nights.

Yeah, unfortunately - the grass has been flourishing. May mow, for the second time this evening. My yard, is way too big. (2.5 acres +/-) I'd have left maybe 1/10 acre around the house and left the rest surrounding the house in woods, for privacy. (Already pretty darn private.)
Spotted a couple Dogwoods, flowering around the pond, while out on the back deck earlier.
Love it. (Except for having to mow.)
