What happened to Bert. He had a lot of good answers and was very helpful. I only disagreed with him on one subject and I was right but he would never admit it.

I did not know that either. Terrible news. Bert was a good guy and an absolute trove of info and knowledege on any Winchester you had a question about. He ran the production dates on a model 55 and 64 I have and was very helpful. RIP Bert.

That’s the best news then I’ve heard all day.
On a side note, I’ve never meet him in person, but he has answered questions for me before, and I’m sure he has a cense of humor. So if he reads this post he will probably get a chuckle out of it.
