9 hours of sleep. Get up, go potty. Eat breakfast. Take nap. Dogs sure got it rough!!!
After the nap, it is time to sprint around the yard for a little bit than come in , chew on the chewy toy for a while, take another nap.
Repeat until it is time to go to bed for 9 or 10 hours.
My Dad used to say "If there is reincarnation, I want to come back as a dog owned by a Dreher!!"
Yup. Dogs sure got it rough.

That sounds like my morning. Naps are one of the few perks of old age.

Cats have the best jobs, they don't even have to go out in the rain or snow to do their business. Then again our turtle just eats and basks and then munches a few snails and takes a nap.

Yes, cats do have the best job. I think ours sleeps 23 out of 24 hours. The one hour he is awake is just long enough to eat in the morning and at night.

Our border collie Francine gets up at five with the wife goes out checks on her cat eats and then naps next to my side of the bed. Then in a couple of hours starts it all over again. Who wouldn't want such a life!

Dogs average 12-14 hours of sleep per day

Daisy inspects her bed. She has 3 sofas, two big leather chairs, and 2 beds to choose among. She refuses to sleep on the floor.

as I have gotten older the more our dogs have become more family than pets
my parents and even my wifes parents are rolling over in their graves over the vet and food bills we have for our dogs and cats
different times for sure from the old feed/ fend for your self heal or die way of looking at pets .
I know our cats and dogs are treated better eat better and looked after better than a lot of kids I knew growing up

My dog (Buddy) is my "Once in a Lifetime Dog," and is treated accordingly. Totally spoiled rotten.
I'd like his day, (But) he has to go to Doggy Jail, everyday while I am at work. After apprx. 1 mo. of coming home to disaster after disaster, after adopting him at apprx. 9 mo. of age, (per the Vet) I finally got the biggest cage I could find. I had no sooner got it set up, than he went in and laid down. (He had apparently been "Crated" before.) [Pit's are notorious for being destructive due to Seperation anxiety.] I knew this going in to it, before adopting him. Once he started eating the furniture while I was at work. His fate was sealed.
He takes to it like a duck to water. It's "His House." If I say, "Go to your house," he's in it. (Somehow) He can read my mind when he needs to go in. 95% of the time, he just knows. (And) If I look over, he's sitting in "his house.
He gets a nice cow femur, sliced bone with marrow every day before I leave. He LOVES them. 😘

Ditch-runner, forget about when you were growing up. My dogs are treated better than many kids are treated right now today. That is really sad when you think about it.😔

My dogs have definitely taken the place of all my grown children. I give them everything except college tuition and the keys to my car!
