Question for a potential buyer.....
Recently came into possession of a Marlin camp 9. Gun has had the original finish sanded off down to bare wood. Wood is in great shape. Trying to decide if I should put some Linseed or other type of finish on it before I list it, or just leave it as is? Opinions?

Camp 9's do not have the purtiest wood. Try to fix it up as best you can. Don

Personally, I'd put some linseed oil on it, before photographing it and offering it up.
I also own a Camp 9. (2nd dcon12.)

I would use Linspeed oil. That is not a typo.

Take the wood off and paint it black--tick off the libs! 😈

Walnut stain and clear coat

Forego the linseed and use tung oil. It's much better.
