The vultures will not scare or run the turkeys off, but the bobcat will kill and eat turkeys. Think of a bobcat as a feral cat on steroids.

In Illinois bobcats are protected and you need a special license to hunt them. Bobcats kill rabbits, squirrels, puppies and other small game. I put bobcats in the same category as coyotes.

Bobcats were in Illinois before it was Illinois. That suggests humans are the varmints.

Just keep moving so they will know that you're not dead.πŸ˜‰

    Funny story.

When I managed a large Outdoor Adventure Equipment Store up N for apprx 23 years, I was a Hard Core Outdoor Adventure Junkie.

We had a very tight group of prior Service Rangers and ABN. Most of us on the same Search and Rescue Teams. (NY/NJ) We got out constantly, in some of the worst weather imaginable. (Like apprx. 50 nights a year.) Hike in after work in the dark by headlamp and snowshoes, meet up in the middle of nowhere, Party till late, wake up early in the dark, hike out and go to work. All coming in from different directions, different times, solo night hiking (as much as in the daylight.) Radio coms, etc. Good times. πŸ‘

I ordered (through a high end equipment/clothing Co.) a set of 6" tall inflatable Pink Flamingos (on stakes,) and the requisite set of inflatable Palm trees. I'd pack em' in, inflate em' stick em' on their stakes all around our campsite in the snow, etc. (Sets of 6 ea.) I found it Hysterical. πŸ˜‚πŸ€£

My Ranger Brother's threatened them with Violence, (But) I knew they found it Hysterical, as well. Still got em' packed away in all my Outdoor gear, upstairs. (Gotta give em' to my Son.) πŸ‘πŸ˜

The picture of all the Pink Flamingos, brought back the memory. Funny stuff.
