The concrete guys around here start at daylight and work til dark.

    Those must be Millenials.

Every concrete company I ever dealt with could be counted on to arrive on time or they were sent back, never to be called upon again.

Sounds like they don't belong in business.

Most pools today, are made of Gunite and stotcrete. It's like concrete, but last longer. Ours was made of concrete, as it was an older pool. It is in the process of being filled in, as nobody wants to buy a house with a built in pool anymore, because of the liability. Damn thing is more work than it is worth.

Concrete isn't what it's cracked up to be.

But seriously... it's what Alpine said. If a contractor says concrete at 9:30 a.m. and the truck doesn't roll up until 10-ish, that's the last pour the concrete company will make for that contractor.

It's even worse if the concrete truck shows up on time, and the finishing guys wander in an hour later. They'd be fired on the spot with no pay. Because the whole pour may be lost.

I'm trying to stay out of this as much as possible....even though it is affecting things here. We all work together to get as much done as possible here. Once we are past the pool ordeal it will all be back to normal around here.....at least as normal as we can get it. I'm not a fan of these concrete guys.

Never had an experience even close to that with a concrete co.

I've had much the same experience with roofers. As a group, what a bunch of flakes.

Strange. In my experience people in the concrete business are either organized or unemployed. There’s money in it, but it’s hard work and wears out your body.

Pools are a money pit. I hope your photographer checked with his home owner’s insurance company…he might be in a for an unwelcome surprise.

Good luck getting past the interruption soonest.

Have to go with the group. Show up on time or get sent home . Too many people waiting on the clock can ruin a pocketbook . And there are other concrete companies about .
