Question for you Dewalt 20V guys
I'm new to the 20V series. Looking at the charger, how do I tell the difference looking at the charger status lights between charging & fully charged?

My charger has instructions on it.If I remember correctly when it stops flashing the battery is charged.

It should have a legend on it.
Even flashing red light-charging.
Solid red light-charged.
Interrupted flashing red light-to hot to charge.

Anything I'd add at this point would just be redundant after the above posts so I'm just gonna sit here and not say a thing 'cause to do so would just be a waste of time and bandwidth and nobody wants that...

Not a Dewalt but my craftsman 20V flashes while charging solid when finished, my older Dewalt 14.4v does the same, just different colors between the two, red Dewalt, green craftsman and Todd is correct about if too hot.

But DO make sure to seat the battery completely. Some people don't push the battery ALL the way in and that will make you think it was charging, when in fact it was not!

Thanks mike, now I don't feel so bad...
Another thing I noticed is there are 2 different charger models. There is a DCB 112, which is a little faster than the DCB 115. The 115 generally comes with the smaller 2AH batteries, while the 112 comes with the larger 4 AH and 5AH batteries.

Yes, there is a legend on it but it wasn't clear what is solid light on and flashing light. Maybe I haven't seen the charging mode. This 6AH battery must charge quickly. I'm not used to that with my old 18V. Right, inserting the battery is a little tricky but I've mastered that. Thanks for the help guys. This place is a lifesaver!

FYI, I had a bad DCB 112 charger. It would act like the batteries were charged super fast, but in reality, they weren't even half charged. Use the battery indicator button on the battery to see if it is fully charged.

Never had any luck with Dewalt. I use cordless tools all day long, every day. I went with Milwaukee and never looked back. I still have all my Dewalt stuff. I let my wife use it.

Sounds like the perfect time for a giveaway! Id be glad to have all your "junk" 20v DeWalt stuff! 😁

will add in if you have the 18v tools you can buy a adapter that will let you use the newer 20 vt and similar battery's in the 18v tools just to keep the old tools working and using the same battery platform.
I bought a couple of amazon they work well and not very expensive .
the adapters have a wide variety to allow any one switch brands of battery's to about any other tool , just about any combination you could want
I have some that I can use the Milwaukee batterys on the dewalt tools

I have an antique DeWalt cordless drill in 14 volt. The damn thing just won't die, and I have shot hundreds of pounds of screws with it. When the battery is charged the light stops flashing.

I have quite the collection of DeWalt tools and accessories. I've been using them for over 20 years. The only issue I had with them was the old 18V batteries didn't hold a charge very long.
