Hiking/Combat boots
So I took a chance and ordered a pair of these so called Combat/Hiking boots. I thought they would be junk, but I was pleasantly surprised. They are light as a pair of sneakers, and very well constructed. They provide support and are easy to get on and off with the side zipper. I just ordered another pair. They have all sizes and wide sizes too. They fit perfect. I actually saw them advertised on my wife's Facebook page. I am going to use them for bow hunting and hiking. Just tilt your head to the left a little. LOL

I was in the Army from 87- 91 and my issue combat boots gave me horrendous bone spurs on my heels. After 30 years they have almost gone away.............been re-absorbed I guess.
My Grandad used to say that you should always invest in good quality shoes..........take care of your feet and they will take care of you. If you don't........you will wish that you had.

I hope you have better luck than I did with that style. I had a very similar pair, but Rocky’s brand. Very comfy in general. However, once I put a load on them (dragging a deer), they just ate my heels up. I’ve found that a nice felt-lined pair of rubber Kamiks is the best blend of comfort, ease (slip-on), warmth, and utility. I wear them everywhere.

I am sad that a company that uses my name (and pays me not one darn penny!) makes such poor gear.
I'm kidding about the royalties, of course. I went to their booth at SHOT once and sorta demanded they start paying. They were not amused.

I am sad that our government gives such bad footwear to soldiers. I bet it hasn't improved since I was in.

My era was the Vietnam Jungle boot. They were pretty comfortable, but I didn't have to march or slog with them.

Bates makes a comfortable tacticool hiking boot, they wears like a tennis shoe and gives decent ankle support. I remember hi-tec coming out with the soft sole combat boot in the 90s. Made road marches a breeze.

I don't care for the 'side zip' feature. Rubs my ankle bone raw.
I mostly stick with BATES as they usually fit me better for some reason. All my work boots are 2nd hand (already broke in) military type.

Oakie, once this gets out you might want to leave the house in the morning a little early because of all the picketing at the road.

I bought a pair of Reebok 6" boots to use when cutting & splitting firewood. I love them, comfortable, and though they have the side zipper by ankle is protected from the metal. They should last me the duration.

Unfortunately they are made in China and I do not support our enemies with my dollars. I mostly wear Thorogood brand "Made in USA" footwear. I ask everyone to please start checking labels and buy American or at least stop buying Chinese goods. I think we are on a collision coarse with a war with China, and I prefer not to fund the military we may soon be fighting.

The last pair of cheap made in China boots I bought by mail order several years ago had no distinction between LEFT or RIGHT! 😲 Seriously, you could not distinguish which boot to put either foot in!
Never again! Not only do I now buy USA made, but always try them on at a brick & mortar store.

Ive settled on Wolverine for my outdoor walking shoes. Most confortable out of the box Ive found. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for.

I can concur with that. My biggest problem is, I have flat feet, and Rockys and all the other brands of boots, hurt my feet. Even my motorcycle boots hurt like heck after an hour. I actually hunt wearing sneakers, even in the snow and rain. These boots feel like I am wearing slippers. I wore them all day today, and they didn't hurt my feet at all. 99% of the time, I wear sketchers. The other 1% I am barefooted😉I probably have six good pairs of hunting/hiking boots, that I wore once or twice. One year while bow hunting, I took my boots off after I got out of the tree, and walked back to the truck in my socks. That is how bad they hurt my feet. My redheads, I gave to my dad, as we wear the same size, 9 wide.
