They got their butt kicked good tonight. 12-3 against the red sox.
Marco Gonzales was our starting pitcher. 60+ pitches in 2 innings!!
I really think he has a conflict between what the team coaches tell him and what his dad (a pitching coach) tells him. In what 6 years Marco has been with the Mariners and he hasn't got better yet.
The rest of the pitchers that followed tonight weren't up to par either.

Coaches can destroy a good natural pitcher / batter by trying to change them and their natural style. That's why you are seeing so many arm / ligament operations today. Giving tips are good, making changes are bad. Most coaches today never made it to the Majors themselves and they're the ones giving directions......I don't think that works out very well 🙄.

I was once a Detroit Tiger fan back when they won the World Series back in '68.

Cincinnati Reds fan, since the late 60's. I also like the Orioles and Tigers. I was always a huge fan of Johnny Bench and the big red machine. Sparky Anderson won them a couple of world series, then went to Detroit to win it all again.
I only ever kept two baseball cards my whole life, and want them to go into my coffin with me. One is Johnny Bench's rookie card, and the other is Roberto Clemente's rookie card. My two all time favorites.
