We met with elder daughter at a restaurant yesterday. We much prefer the day before/after observance of most holidays to avoid the insane crowds. Wife had ravioli and I had fish and chips.

We had steak and egg/cheese casserole for brunch at home today.

Wife chose...kids cooked. Sauteed scallops, roasted red tater chunks, and steamed snow peas. Washed down with a nice wine. Happy mama makes for a happy house.

Our first date started at a "hole in the wall" Chinese place I had discovered. She was concerned because she'd never had Chinese before but she loved the way they did the veggies and it became our "go-to" style of restaurant, so I had some Chinese and remembered our 46 good years.

We did brunch yesterday with my in-laws and dinner last night with my mom. Mom likes shrimp and Wifey likes crab legs so we had dinner at a nice local seafood restaurant. Went back over to moms today to mow her lawn and we had a roast beef sandwich together. Taking the kids and grandkids out for dinner and some Top Golf tomorrow evening

I made Jambalaya. Usually about a 6 out of 10 re: heat, but this time it hit 8. I even had a little bead of sweat. Didn't stop her from having 3rds. And she did the dishes.

Fried catfish, fries, hush puppies, and cole slaw with freshly-brewed tea, followed by homemade strawberry ice cream. Nothing is too good for my bride.

We picked up two Subways and took the Nobles Immigrant Trail into the Nevada Desert. We saw antelope, wild burros and a herd of 11 mustangs. And lotsa ducks!! Had our picnic next to the creek that flows through Jack Rabbit Flat. There is a cave on the trail that I can hide my F-150 in. And a few old abandoned homesteads to explore. We do this loop twice a year.

I've been batching it for two months, as my wife has been taking care of our first born after her surgery. There was no stopping her........as she IS an RN.

Soooooo........today I had some soft corn tortillas & butter......and a midnight snack of PB&J and chocolate milk.

    Living high-on-the-hog........yeah......that's me. ๐Ÿ™

I deep fried some walleye and gills, with sides of cloe slaw, tossed salad, and beans for our parents.

Great day and good times, although with both of our mothers having dementia, sadly they won't remember it today.

I also had smoked three racks of ribs, low and slow. Had 1/2 a rack for a late evening snack. (Best part is they were "Samples," from work.) Three new variety we started carrying. Pre-sauced/marinated. Taste of Inspirations etc.

    Boy, were they good. ๐Ÿ‘

Now I have 5 more 1/2 racks to snack on. ๐Ÿ˜

Mom had Fried Whiting, Sweet potatoes, Blackberry Cobbler, Hush Puppies and Sweet Tea. They came around to each table and gave the Mom's Bannana Pudding.
