Cutting down 357 brass
I have ended up with several hundred 357 cases and wonder if they could be trimmed to 38 lengths. I know the head stamps would be wrong but I'm not selling them, I'm using them.

Got to be an easier way? Should be a good trade? How many are you talking about?

.38 Special brass is very available and not expensive if you need brass for a gun in that caliber. If you are going to use it in a .357, there are lots of .38 Special loads that work great in the longer brass.

Sure you could do that. Or
Just melt them down and cast them into whatever brass format you need

That 357 brass, Makes nice 256 Win mag brass when necked down. That is what my dad does with all the 357 brass I pick up at the range.

Hardly worth the time and effort when a trade would be so simple.

Pro tip;
rent scuba gear and swim around looking for lead split shot lost by fishermen , if youre lucky you might even find a casting sinker. then melt those down and cast for free projectiles
