NO JOKE I am now a nurse (RN)
I just finished nursing schooI . Just took/passed my last final this morning.
Started taking classes four years ago. Retired two years ago (after 39 years with a fortune 100) and went full time nursing school, finished today. Graduation is next week.

Thanks Jim, I like kiddos and I like the fast pace of the ER, not to mention I have the maturity level of a seven year old ……..so being a pediatric ER nurse just seems right

Congratulations Austin!! Well done!
After raising our two children (and me)......my wife went back to school, and earned her BSN/RN through much hard work. She put in about 20 years before retiring. I'm very proud of her.....as always.

Congratulations. I am sooooo Jealous. My lifelong dream was to become a trauma nurse. I couldn't go to nursing school, because Donna was in Med school, and one of us had to work, to pay for the house. My friend, Mike Lynch, went to nursing school, and ended up working for life flight, out of Hanuman Hospital in Philly. He just retired.

I was right there with ya, making a living and providing for the family took priority over chasing a dream. But, now the kids are grown - college and weddings are paid for. All of our debts are paid and I still wanted to do something that would make a difference in this world.

I'm proud of you young man! I started the nursing program when I got out of the service using the GI Bill and was about 8 months out from finishing when my father offered me the family business back in my hometown.
I did a LOT of soul searching before dropping out, but to be totally honest.......the few times I had to catheterize some male patients in a nursing home during my training made my decision quite easy! 😁

My buddy is an RN. Four years ago he told me he was clearing $1750 a week. That was before Corona.
I was talking to an RN during the Corona, 2 years ago, and she said she was making $205K a year.

Allen, money is definitely important. But, I actually did not do this for the money. I retired from a position earning more than I will ever earn as a nurse. I know it sounds corny, I felt the need to do something that would make a difference

Those classes and the clinicals are hard. I helped my daughter study when she was in nursing school. About 50 started when she did and only maybe 10-15 made it through. She has 15 years' experience now and some tough jobs along the way.
Pinning ceremony and graduation are completed. I began nursing school with 74 students in my class only 23 graduated
