Bush's Best "Chili Magic" -
If you've not discovered them yet, I would encourage you to do so.
I have all three here in front of me now. "Classic Homestyle," (mild) "Campfire Style," (med) and "Hearty Heat." (hot) Small cans (15.5 oz) of eveything but a med. fine diced onion, a can of diced tomatoes and a 1lb. of ground beef.
Down and dirty, ready in a short time Chili. I am cooking the "Hearty Heat," (hot) with a med fine diced onion, 1 lb 80% ground beef and a can of Rotelle (med) tomatoes w/green chili's. A few shakes of dried crushed red pepper flakes, some Badia "Perfect Seasoning," and some pepper.
Simmering for about 30-45 minutes.
*I have stocked up on a bunch of cans of each.
(Yes,) It has beans. ๐๐
LOVE me some Chili.

Enjoy it, Ken.

I love me some homemade chili.

Is it okay for kids?
Ok, let's don't get this started in this thread too. It seems to becoming an issue, and that's what got the "Bought a New Toy Today" thread closed. HPD

Looks good KenK/84 Bravo but it looks like it's not available in the Indy area.

KenK/84Bravo,I found some at a Target store outside of Indy. One question for you: do you add 1# of ground beef and a can of Rotelle to just one can of beans?

IMO, the biggest thing that they add to canned stuff is salt, which makes us crave it, and want to buy it.

Yes, I added one med fine diced onion, one can of Rotelle tomatoes and 1 lb. 80% ground beef. (And) I elected to add an additional can of red kidney beans. (It has pinto beans in it already.) The 1st 3 ingredients, is all it calls for.
I usually make WAY too much in the Crock Pot and either eat it for a week straight, or throw some out. (Usually both.)
This is perfect. (2-3 bowls of spicy goodness.)

Thanks Ken. I bought some w/ Hearty Heat today. Good taste, but we had to add more "heat."

I'm making another batch as we speak. I used the "Campfire" (med) version tonight, because I used "Hot" Rotelle w/Habenero's. (Sp?)
Added, (like last time) a med fine diced onion, some crushed red pepper flakes, a little Tabasco, some Badia "Perfect Seasoning," and some Pepper.
A can of zesty Red Beans in a "Spicy Chipotle sauce."
Letting it bubble away. Will eat here shortly.
*Will have some New York Extra Sharp Cheddar with it.

Some of you guys that have been married all your life don't know. I have been a bachelor three times.
I learned to adapt, innovative, and overcome hunger.

Jim, hopefully you learned from your mistakes & don't touch Linda's ice cream.

I'm tied with you Jim and don't plan on going for the win!

For me, chili is more of a cold weather food. Summer time is grill time. The kitchen stove which is gas by the way gets a break.
I did just learn a new culinary trick recently though. I enjoy snacking on corn chips and bean dip once in a while. The last can of Frito Bean Dip I bought not only cost more than the bag of chips but must have been taken from the bottom of the bin at the factory during the cleaning process!! It was a runny liquid with some floating solids in it. YUK!!
Got to thinking (quite dangerous for me), a can of refried beans mixed with a good salsa turns into the best bean dip I've ever had! You end up with a lot more dip for a lot less moola too! I'll never go back to the Frito's canned stuff!

That's Tex Mex, y'all.
