Mimosa Tea
Mimosa Tea can be made from either the flowers or the bark; both preparations are lovely, with a natural sweet taste. To make a tea of Mimosa blooms, pour 12 oz of just boiled water over 1 tablespoon of dried flowers, cover, and step for 5-10 minutes. Strain and enjoy! To make a tea of Mimosa bark, add 2 tablespoons to 16 oz of water, bring to a boil, then simmer for 20 minutes. Strain, and enjoy. Add a little raw honey for some extra sweetness in your cup. Making mimosa tea is a great way to enjoy its mood elevating benefits while carving out a little quiet time for yourself.
There are several websites with various things they use the Mimosa tree blooms and bark for.....it seems very useful. I'm tempted to try it.

Supposedly this is a natural seratonin booster.....its a mood lifting plant according to many sources. My friend has been drinking the tea for a while and swears it makes her less irritable and more "at peace" with all the daily nonsense in her life. She hasn't tried anything other than making tea with the blooms....but there are several things you can do with the bark and other parts. Can you imagine this nuisance tree having such awesome properties? I imagine that people would be planting these things everywhere if just collecting the blooms and making tea with them made your day better.
