Current Recalls and Safety AnnouncementsYou might contact the current Winchester folks and ask them. Don't get your hopes up because the 490 hasn't been made since 1976 or sold since 1980. I bought three of these when a distributor was closing them out in the early 80's for, if I remember correctly, $60 each. Still have one around here somewhere.
Mine were obviously late production and no recall necessary. I guess the early ones would very rarely slam fire and double when the trigger was pulled. Unless yours has done this, to me it wouldn't be a worry. Good luck with it. Bob
