I would be in the bottom of the basket, soiling my britches!!!!!!!!!!!! I have trouble even contemplating how they even get steel off the ground ,with those tiny engines.

My wife and I got a balloon ride as a wedding gift, it was darned cool. I love flying and I really love flying slow and low, the balloon ride was amazing .............................. the landings are scary and pretty much a roll of the dice. I'd definitely do it again.

I built this balloon. I worked for 3 years at Mike Adams Balloon Loft in Atlanta. We were an FAA licensed aircraft manufacturer, with 4 employees including Mike.

    Good looking balloon.

So, Allen, were you a member of the seamsters union!😀

Yes there is a lot of sewing in a balloon. There are 16 panels. A panel is called a "gore." A gore might be 5 feet wide, and 18 feet long. You set 2 gores side by side and feed the joint into a big sewing machine that sews the 2 panels together. Miles of thread in a hot air balloon.

I also did a lot of work on the baskets, the gondolas. Fun job.
