This is a factory Glock model 18 select fire pistol.

If you check glockswitch.com they explain it and how it works. It isn't something I am interested in and if I was, I sure wouldn't buy it online. Bob

    35 rounds in 5 seconds is 7 rounds/sec. 1200 rounds/min. is 20 rounds/sec. Seems confusing - was hoping for some insight.

According to Glock, the mod 18's rate of fire is about 20 rds per second. I have no reason to doubt them and would assume the rate of fire would be similar in the modified models. Bob

I have as much interest in getting a full auto hand gun or the parts to make one as I do in spending the next ten years in a Federal Prison. The Glock 18 is full auto but even renting one to test is far from my idea of a good time. Ammo is too expensive to waste blasting 20 rounds per second.

About as practical as a wrist watch for a chicken.....

The Glock Switch is real, made by 3D printing or smuggled in from Communist China. I don't know about sensationalistic reports of the rate of fire, but it is undoubtedly high due to the relatively light weight of the slide. The local rental range had one, properly registered and equipped with a stock and fore grip for some control by inexperienced shooters. It would unload a magazine in a hurry.

There are videos, and you can see that a practiced user can, as one old time writer said "contaminate a wide area quickly."

If you are a ganger, you can chew up your competitors. What punk will worry about spraying lead into unaffiliated bystanders?

Thanks for the replies, guys. The thoughtlessness of the entire idea is getting clearer. I suppose the shooter would hope to eliminate the opposition in less than 2 seconds, because an empty mag leaves one with a poor substitute for a rock.

I've shot a few full auto handguns at some range demo's. They were, IMO, so hard to even remotely shoot accurately, that their fire rate made them even less desirable. Sure, if you had a mob at 10 yards or so, and held it gangsta style, you could probably do okay, but other than that, just a waste of money IMO.
