It's a Sad day when a truck dies
Our 1994 Dodge truck is finished 😠good old fashioned V8 manual 5 speed. Bought it from our neighbor about 12 year's ago...
RIP
Now looking for replacement

My 2000 Ram 2500 With Cummins 5.9 has 645,000 on the clock now, I just hope the frame and underbody holds up for a few more years.

Very sad and I mourn for the loss of your truck. My old 08 4x4 KIA Sportage only has 120,000 miles on it and still runs like new, but the rust that is going on around the rear wheel wells makes me remember the cars I owned back in the '70's!
My pickup is an 07 with 85,000 miles and looks new. It only comes out of the garage very seldom when I just need a pickup. Never during our salty winter months!

Nearly 30 years of faithful service...12 of which were with you...congrats on that...and sorry for your loss.
Good luck with the replacement search. I can recommend a 2006 Silverado. Mine is approaching 200K with no major issues.

Lady Rae, 5 speed manuals aren't plentiful anymore - especially in a 1500. If you want a good shock check prices on a new one. The price on something like my 2015 now starts about 3 times what I paid for my brand new house when I was discharged from the Army.

All these years your Dodge has "dodged" a bullet. Certainly sounds like a keeper. Will you have to finish it off in the crusher or will it live again as parts in another Old Dodge Truck? Please don't let it suffer if only a little life left left in it. Next to your favorite rifle i am sure it is your best friend. I am so sorry you have lost one of your best friends. PS: years ago I had three 64 Chevy straight sixes. Could not kill them. I kept the last one alive by robbing parts from the other two. It was a sad day when the last one died. I know how you feel. 😀

Yes it is. Looks like it expired close to home. I was 350 miles from home when I lost one.

My banker was pleased when I came in to ask about a cash sale for a house in Independence Kansas for 34,000... Said most people are in here asking for a loan for a used 35,000 dollar truck. And your asking about buying a house for cash.

My brother just drove one of these home. He seems pleased...I'm aghast. He traded in his 2017 Ram Diesel and still had to write them a check for a little over $50K! Crazy times.

My son bought a new RAM TRX back in 2021 paid like $87- $88,000 out the door. Sold it about 16-18 months later for $85,500 to a young man who met him at the bank with all cash.

What part broke that makes it unserviceable? You can very often repair for a heck of a lot less than the cost of buyin' a replacement.

Around us and many other areas that go crazy dumping road salt in the winter with in just a few years the body and frame look like Swiss cheese and the vehicles are truly junk
Finding a older vehicle with no rust or very little any where close to us is like finding hens teeth .
If the body and frame are solid even if beat up some thats not a big deal easy fix or run as is most all mechanical issues can be repaired
But just having 3 or 4 tons of rust is just a lost cause

Been driving PU's all my life. My new one is a 2011 Tundra. Probably the best so far!
