Manwiches -
The key is more meat than called for, so it is not soupy. 👍
Bought a couple cans of Manwich "Bold." (And) About 1.5lbs 93% Ground Beef.
Started with a sautee'd small/med fine diced sweet onion. Added the ground beef. Browned, slowly. Some Chili Piquin' ("Caution, Hot, Hot!!") From Gunnut505. RIP Brother. (My West Coast Spice connection.) I miss You Brother. 😔
Salt/pepper, Badia "Perfect Seasoning." Some premium, XL Sesame seeded buns. A little Cool Whip, smeared on the buns, good to go.
Mmmnnn..........................Mmmnnn...........................
*Only 1 can of Manwich, (if I was not clear,) since I mentioned I bought two cans.

Manwich- that brings back some memories. I haven’t had a manwich sammich since back in my bachelor days. I didn’t even know that product was still around.

OK OK, I'm not lookin' to restart the chili wars, but I put Manwich in my chili.

Oh, now you done went and opened up a can of beans…… I mean manwich

Just to be clear, I do not put beans in my Manwiches.
(That would just be wrong.) 🤔

Y'all are tryin' to get my thread locked. 🤔😉😂🤣

I mix up a batch of sloppy Joes about every 5 or 6 weeks. I normally used Hormel Not-So-Sloppy Joe sauce but haven't been able to find it for the last 6 months. It is a little thicker and I zest it up a bit with various ingredients as the mood strikes. Manwich Bold is what I have been using instead and I just let it simmer real slow until it thickens up a bit. With the big bakery style buns that I prefer, a 1# batch lasts me and the boss for 2 meals. Simple cooking that hits the spot. Bob

The very mention of a Manwich makes me physically nauseous. Whatever my Mom’s intentions were with them growing up, it clearly went very wrong.

I forgot to mention, simmer until it thickens up. (Already using 1/2× more meat, than called for.)
@Frogdog, thanks for sharing. 🤔😕

Seems like these days, those words could have a completely different meaning. But Ken, I do know what you are talking about...

These are Not, Transgender Manwiches, Todd.
*Perhaps you have been watching too many episodes of Ru Paul's "Drag Queen?" 🤔😉😂🤣

There are too many? Who Knew. I mean who knew there was such a show.

ok my manwich history
I worked stocking shelfs when I was 16 it was not uncommon to get a case of can goods with all the labels that had just fallen off but still in the box ( case )
one night I was working with a couple other stockers , putting away dog food and related goods next isle over was a hodge podge of different can goods .
a case of dog food came in all the labels had fallen off . it was set it aside to later to tape them back on
the next row over a case of manwich had came in it just come out recent on the market it was some of the first we had received in the store
the case was opened and all the labels had fallen off. poor glue or what ever reason as I said not uncommon for the labels to have fallen off all brands no rhyme or reason why
some how all the cans of dog food ended up with the manwich labels and the dog food ended up with manwich labels
now 50 yrs later I think about that time to time and how many people swore of manwich after the first can
along with that I have often thought what if mom had decided to try it out that week also 😲

When I was growing up, only the rich kids got real Manwiches. My mom just added ketchup to the fried ground beef and called the stuff Sloppy Joe's. Heck! I'm even pretty sure the stuff we were told was Hamberger Helper was actually scratch made imitation Hamberger Helper!! 😋

Same here Brookwood
I can still hear my parents saying , very often I might add ,
"only rich people can buy that or can afford that "
One more favorite not the exact word but cclose heard countless times as a kid
Wish in one hand "crap" in the other see which one gets full first
As far as manwich i never liked it. And my wife Hates it she makes her own version of course a little more than hamburger and ketchup like dear old mom

I meant the actual sandwiches.….. not whatever gross act the Gen-Z idiots are using the word for. 🤮
Mom was a really bad cook back in the day.

I didn't even know there was an obscene use of the word. But it doesn't surprise me.
Haven't had a Sloppy Joe in ages. Now I want one.

Our mothers must have been related. Her favorite saying at the table was "It's not burnt, it's just browned now shut up and eat it" Yeah right Mom.

@He Dog, as far as knowing about the show, if you watch TV, you can not escape the Commercials. They seem to push/air them repeatedly. They always get muted.
Another case of LGBT agenda being pushed (repeatedly) to the masses.

Don't know the show, don't like manwich, Do like real sloppy Joe. Got a diner (Rt. 66 Diner) here in town that makes really good ones. Come on over, I'll buy.

Adidas could have used manwich as the name for their new swim suit.

We like to put buttered garlic toast in the oven for about 8 minutes, then put the manwich/sloppy joe meat on top, cover with shredded cheese and back in the oven for 5-6 minutes. Just eat with a fork.

I like it better with about a pound and a half of venison burger.... Not too sloppy that way !! Going to buy some Manwich the next trip to the store. Been a while since I made some !

I did try the real manwich stuff a long time ago and didn't care for it. I would bet if you took a good jar of Medium Salsa and used it with the burger\onions and a dab of ketchup, you'd have a good tasting Sloppy Joe!
Going to try this soon as I now have a craving!

Oh Lordie, neacpa, you just made me a cravin'...

This is what we do , to much sugar in the manwich crap.

Well at age 68 I can say I have never tried the manwich stuff . Always made a homemade version of sloppy joe. Guess I will have to try it .

There are lots of other versions if you're looking for different flavors.
- Feeling like a bratwurst and beer? try some Germanwich.
- How about a taste of Italy? The Romanwich is great! Mama Mia!
- Perhaps you have a hankering for the far east? Can't do better than some Chinamanwich (pushing it...I know....)
- Maybe you live out in the woods and just rassled a bear to the ground? You sir, need some Manly manwich
- And of course, for the metro vegan woke hipsters: Girly manwich
