The fix was in long ago. Anyone else notice that this time the concept of ‘government shutdown’ was never considered? We went straight from spending every dime possible to the nuclear option of default.

a completely manufactured crisis to score points for 2024. Both parties playing the same song

You and I, have to manage our budget. We can not spend/borrow, more than we have collateral for.

(What happened to that little factoid?)

Spending too much? Time to cut back.

    Oh wait, What??

Same old dog and pony show. They take in over 400 billion a month in revenue which is more than enough to make its debt obligations which amounts to around 40 billion a month. The only thing accomplished is that the general public has been hosed again.

We the people have been lied to about national debt ever since the Constitution was ratified in 1788, things will never change so don't get your hopes up.

"The sky is the limit" is just an expression made up by politicians.

What really P..... me off is all of the media's headlines trying to scare the crap out of the elderly folks depending upon Social Security!

It is not money, it is ones and zeros in a computer. Our money has no real value anymore. When the world finally kicks the US dollar out as the world reserve currency and oil is completely uncoupled from the dollar the US hyperinflation will set records that the world has never seen.

Simple way to look at it as was explained the other night. For every dollar the U.S. government takes in it spends one dollar and 29 cents.

It is what politicians do best spend other peoples money. I personally am tired of getting nothing for my tax dollar.

I think they should pass the "Put your money where your mouth is act". Any politician who wants to give away money for any reason should have to put up half of the cost in their own money.
