Bye Incandescent Light Bulbs
As of August 1st, no stores will be allowed to sell incandescent light bulbs all across the country.
IMHO, probably not a bad thing for many reasons but if you are a freedom loving person like me, this seems like another squeeze on our capitalistic ways and freedoms.
I changed out my incandescent bulbs some time ago in order to save on escalating electric bills. It was a noticeable difference at the time but the current bills are now even higher then they were back before I made those changes.
Anyhow, the way I was brought up to never throw away items that are brand new and still working, I retain a stash of those incandescent bulbs. Who knows, in the not so distant future they may either have some collector value or may become a trade item in the apocalypse yet to come.

Wife needed horse/donkey feed - we went to Tractor Supply - they HAD (operative word) a few 200 watt and 3 - 300 watt light bulbs that I need for certain applications.
Best Regards - AQH

The state of California is talking about banning Skittles....
They never do stop.
Skittles, what the heck is wrong with Skittles

On a side note... They stopped making washing machines with water level settings. Now it takes longer for the new machines to sense how much water to use while using more electricity. Then, you have to set it to rinse twice since it reduces the water amount. Guess they figure we're too stupid to set a water level. Rant over.

Just got back from Lowe’s. Kid asked me why I was buying so many night light bulbs, I told him we plan on handing them out on Halloween.

Most all of ours are now LED. Like them much better too. Cleaner, bright light with no yellow tint or hallow around light. Way easier on old eyes.

Went to Lowes just now to pick up a few more 60w bulbs. None there of any wattage except specialty ones like heat lamps.
I didn't like those curly fluoro CFLs but I have one in my garage that has burned now 24/7 for at least two years. I put the date on it when I screwed it in, but only the day and month. Didn't imagine it would last more than a few months, but there it is, still going strong.
When it finally dies, wife wants me to put in a motion-sensing LED. I'd rather have full-time light, but she gets what she wants.
Wise man.

They don’t make’em like they use to ,,,,, 😂
The Centennial Light is the world's longest-lasting light bulb, burning since 1901, and almost never turned off. It is located at 4550 East Avenue, Livermore, California,
You are right in a way. One of the first things they started doing when the CF bulbs came out was start making the filaments thinner and thinner and jacking the price up. I hated the CF bulbs color and refused to buy them but when regular bulbs lasted less than 6 months, I started buying the CF ones. They didnt last more than a year and by then the LED were starting to come out. We have lived in this house 17 yrs and there are more than a few bulbs I know I have never replaced. I have replaced a few of the outside security lights with three head LED fixtures that so far have been great. I was in Lowes Sunday and did not see them emptying out all the shelves.... I have yet to see a Mogul base LED bulb nor any that will fit the halogen fixtures in most of my bathrooms.
