Any of you ever replaced the rubber roof on a camper and an apology all in one.
FIrst, I want to say I am sorry for the post I made about discussing stinging events. I got stung by a yellow jacket that very day. I was in a TON of pain, it is still swollen with the swelling spreading across the entire back of my hand. It still hurts like hell. What I was saying was in jest but apparently did not come off that way...
Now, I am looking at a camper that needs a new rubber roof. Has anyone replaced theirs and had success doing it? The motorhome is in great condition and just the right size for my needs. My concern is attacking this task on my own and having a good result.

I used to have a class A motor home that the rubber membrane came loose as we went through very high winds in northern Indiana near the lake. It didn't peel it off, but it did pull it loose from the roof. So I had a bulge on the front of the roof as I drove.
My cure was to get some glue from the RV store, put some in a large syringe and start at one side and slowly work my way to the other side while poking the syringe through the membrane and depositing a glob of glue. I would go about 2 feet more then using a roller I would spread the glue around using plenty of pressure.
It worked fine for several years. I wound up selling it later as I didn't need it any longer.

Never done a camper ,but have done reseal on metal mobile home roof with great results.

Rip that old roof off, roll out some window screen and slap it down heavy with some flex-seal. You can thank me later.

Bruce, first off, you never need to apologize to us. I don't think any of us took it wrong. My thought on your camper, is go talk to a camper stores in your area, and see what they suggest. The reason I say that is, I tried with my brother in law to fix his. We messed it up worse. He ended up going to camping world, and they told him what product to get, to fix it. It worked, but I forget the name of the stuff. I will try to find out for you. Oakie

I appreciate all of your wise inputs. I looked further at the camper and my concern is the walls have gotten soaked so the wood framing is going to be rotten and the insulation soaked. If he had tarped the unit it might have saved it but at this point I am not willing to buy it and find the walls rotted out. Replacing a roof with a leak or two is one thing, replacing the entire wall is out of my realm.
