Finally, a little good news
We saw a doe bring out her 2 little fawns to introduce them to us. Our deer populations just doubled. 😀

I've only seen only seen one fawn this so far this year. I think the winter was pretty tough on the expectant mommas.

From one to three doubled? Hmmmm

I haven't checked the game cam for a few days but the dang critters have been doing a good job of avoiding it lately. I know we have at least 1 set of triplets and a couple of sets of twins running around here. A couple of game cam shots last week show just a blur from the fawns tearing by. The little suckers can really move! They must be eating good to have that much energy.
Last week, on the opposite side of the house from the cam, we saw a group with 1 doe, 2 fawns and FIVE 1 1/2 year old little bucks. All appeared to be fork horns. Right now there are 4 hen turkeys in the yard. Always something going on out there this year. Bob

I've been seeing more nice bucks (6-8 point) running around in velvet, in our Holler, than any year previous.
The Turkey's have disappeared though. We used to have huge flocks. (Coyotes?)
(But) Rabbit's are everywhere. 🤔

Seen several Mommas with babies this last month or so and at least one set of twins in front yard and throughout the pastures, usually at least one group every day in the evenings. And Bob, I agree those little twins are fast and running the Moms ragged out in the hay.

Seems to be a pretty good crop of fawns here this year.

These two seem to like cooling off in the shade behind the pole barn. They get use to us walking around the place.

We have seen a ton of fawns this year. I'm surprised because of the amount of coyotes that we have. Rabbits are almost non existent , but we do have a lot of Turkeys. Not as many turkeys as in the years past, but still a lot of them around.

Must be a buck somewhere, unless they do it differently there.

We have a older doe around that drops 2 or 3 fawns every year.I keep a feeder in the yard so my wife can watch the deer. This year the old doe is still pregnant and she has a yearling doe and buck with her.The young buck has a good spread 5 point rack but is still thin and small bodied.Every year about Christmas a big racked heavy bodied buck shows up and the cycle repeats.

I have been surprised at the number of deer I have been seeing in the evening...Likely out searching for water after it cools down...

More deer are killed on Wisc. highways than there were in the entire country back in 1900😮
