A new neighbor
This lil' fella was hangin' out with me today. Pretty much maxed out the zoom on my camera!

Butt and body already pretty big. Those antlers are going to fill out and the rut will puff up his neck. He is going to be a big one. Good looking guy there.

Why do you have him in a pen?

LOL! He just decided to lay down by the fence. There's a nice shady spot there where the grass is always green and cool due to a little spring that never quite makes it to the surface.

Yeah, it's a great horse fence but it ain't so great for cattle, especially calves. The little dickens' will slip right under it. In the pasture where the calves are born we had to add two strands of smooth wire below the bottom rail to keep 'em in. The previous folks here were 'horse people', more dollars than sense. Our bull has bent more than one of those rails way out of whack!
