The KK here in Wilmington, N.C. are made fresh and at DD EVERYTHING is frozen and brought in on trucks. Now the coffee sucks at KK and is much better that DD. I used to hit Boston at 5:45 am and stop at a DD, they are every 1/4 mile there.

We have an Amish bakery & produce stand 4 miles from my house. Every Saturday they make fresh glazed donuts that I've never found better! Darn things are huge and melt in your mouth!
I gave them up for Lent a couple years ago and I'm not even Catholic! 😁 My version of Lent has lasted to this day.

Never had KK. I don't know of any near us. We have DD, but like Brookwood, we go to the Amish market for fresh doughnuts and bakery stuff. As soon as Donna starts talking to them in Dutch, we get extra's for free !!! The benefits of marrying an Amish girl.😉😋😀
