He wrote the book on the Ruger Number 1....RIP.
Just saw notice from a friend on facebook. Her father, Judge Joe Clayton passed away earler today. He wrote the book on the Ruger Number 1 in the 80s, and recently Ruger made a model of the No1 in his honor recently. Please keep their family in your prayers. Services will be announced later i'm sure, but i'm sure will be around Tyler TX.
As Jeff Cooper said many times, we are diminished.

I never owned or sold one. Pretty rifles but I always heard they were a pain to get to shoot well.

Judge Clayton's daughter posted the information for his service on Fbook. Celebration of life will be held 21 October 2023 here in Tyler TX.
