Wasn't much for TV as a kid. Had a big * HO gauge model railroad in the basement and all kinds of trouble outside to get into. When I did watch it was usually Gunsmoke and Red Skelton.

Wild Kingdom and The Wide World of Sports. Also never missed a Major League Baseball Game of the Week with Vin Scully and Joe Garagiola making the call.

Neighbors had a tv, older brother & I were invited over to watch Lone Ranger on Sat. nite. Was only one station until 1949.

Most of mine have been posted we could get two channels when I was a kid
Will add in waltdisney . Twilight zone ,outer limits , voge below the sea , of course star trek ,all the western shows, Rat pack, batman the monkeys , capt kangaroo, speed racer, combat ,
In the winter we for the most part stayed in the house why so much TV
I use to enjoy building model cars and do so in front of the TV while the shows were on
Also for a few years me and several neighbor kids all had HO gage shot cars always trying to go faster

I am so old i can hardly remember. I think it was called Gillette Calvacade of Sports, Friday night fights. Hardly anyone had a TV and all the locals use to gather at the general store to watch. -------------------------Ray

Lone Ranger & Sky King some but listen to them on the radio after school before that. I bought every ring they offered for years. Later, Wed & Fri night fights. Gillette was one sponser and I think Pabst was the other. They were probably on at 9:00 because dad closed the store at 9:00 and it was just 5+ minutes from the house. Thanks for bring this up guys. I hadn't thought about it for years.

Back in the early 1960's......we had the the bottom rental of a two-story duplex, which was just off Lincoln Blvd and six blocks south of the Capital building in Okla City.
For a short time I had an almost trashed B&W TV..........I still wonder what happened to that thing.
One of my better childhood memories........is staying up late on Saturday nights, to watch reruns of Tarzan movies..........staring my favorite......Johnny Weissmuller.
Also memorable.......is that I don't think I could stay awake long enough to make it to the end of the films. 😌

I remember A big deal to me as a kid was staying up one night to watch the network signing off for the day
We always had a TV as best i cantemember most all were 2nd hand trade ins froma local storeirecal trying to out draw marshel Dillon evey week LOL
My mom and dad also got the first color TV in our little area the neighbors came over to watch it as it was a amazing thing back then
Many years ago at a funeral for a Old friend a woman who was 4 or5 yrs older than me told me she remembered coming over to our house to watch Ed Sulavan to see the Beatles first TV aperance .
Her family did not have a TV. But that was not uncommon back then
And made a cheap babysitter

I enjoyed watching shows like Lost in Space and My Favorite Martian back in those days.
Just a couple years ago, I got the notion to buy DVD's of the entire Lost in Space collection. Spent a couple of hours watching and put them all away. I sure must have been starved for entertainment in my youth! 😑😁
The one thing I learned is that you can never get back what you thought you once had in life!

I really enjoyed no TV.
Good old days and did not even realize it at the time.
Lived in country, made our own toys and made up games. Cowboys & Indains, lot of animals for pets.
Seen several dogs get rabies and some would run off. the ones that did not run off Dad shot.
Did not go to any Hospital that was over 50 miles away and dirt roads. Hi-ways were gravel roads.
Now days I'm hearing of AI. (Artificial Intelligence)
Really a shame there is not any kind of Intelligence in Washing DC. (just little bit of common sense intelligence would help)
I understand why they are worried about AI. Not any problems at all replacing the whole bunch with a little common sense robot.

My favorite was The Rockford files. I also loved the Night stalker, Cannon, Columbo, Hogan's Hero's, Combat , tour of Duty ,and a few other goodies. We were only allowed to watch tv on Saturday nights. Most of our time was spent working in the gun store or the restaurant, my parents owned. Us kids were basically slaves. UUNDERPAID SLAVES. LOL
