The "Best," Hot Dogs ?
Currently have a pack of Nathan's to do up. Hebrew National are good as well. Have not seen any Sabbretts since moving back down South.
*OM Smokies are good as well.
What do you like/prefer?

Sabretts! That's a name I haven's seen in ages. Delicious dogs!
I'd put the Hebrew Nationals as a strong contender for #1 hot dog.

Johnsonville is the brand I like best. I use their "Smoked Brats" for hot dogs instead of traditional hotdog sausages but all of their products are great.

Nothing like a good dog, with Sour Krout on it, while walking down the Boardwalk. (Ogling Babes.) [Long time ago.] Ocean City, MD. "Purple Moose Saloon," Baby.
Later to become the Dog/Brat/Kielbasa vendor at the midway point on the Ski Slope. ππ
Love a good dog.

Coleman, very good.

Hebrew Nationals, Martin's potato rolls, brown mustard & pepper relish. Grilled of course.

Hebrew national and like Bullshot Johnsonville... They have a spicy sausage that could be a hotdog π

Another vote for Hebrew National. If you want to branch out a little to something larger, I love Johnsonville Italian.
Speaking of hot dogs, about 10 years ago I ran into my mid-teen grand-daughter & her mom by the hot dog case. They were looking at different brands and I picked up a pack of H-N. They ask why I chose those and I said that they were just like other brands but without the pen***s and snouts. We still laugh about that.

I'd agree with you, bullshot. Johnsonville, makes a good product/brat. (Same with their Kielbasa.) [Like em'.]
For this entry/thread, I am trying to limit it to "Dog's," per say.
I do, love a good Brat/Kielbasa dog though, Brother.

As anyone from Michigan will tell you Koegel Viennas are a strong contender for the best. Natural casing, good snap and just the right amount of seasoning. I use these when I am making Coney Island dogs with Coney sauce, onions and mustard. When I am not making Coney's, I up the game a bit with these;
Bun length but twice as thick as a hot dog and just enough polish sausage flavoring without being overbearing. On the grill or under the broiler, oh man, them are some good eats!
When I am slumming and can't get the good stuff, Nathan's and Hebrew National will do in a pinch. Bob

I agree with @BobJudy 100% on the Koegel Brand. Also enjoy their Ring Bologna that you can get in regular, pickled, and garlic varieties. When I get the notion for a hot dog that really fits a hoagy bun, I go with these monsters!

Love their ring bologna! I prefer the regular and the boss likes the pickled variety. Their dinner franks are good and about the same size as the polish version. And yeah, they do require a sub or hoagie style bun. Don't you feel sorry for the folks that can't get Koegels in their part of the country? Of course they probably have never had any so don't know what they are missing. I think the appropriate saying is "ignorance is bliss" in this case. π Bob

Ken, besides Sabbretts, what about finding a good double Italian hot dog down here.
That's 2 deep fried dogs with fried potatoes, onions & peppers in an Italian pocket bread.

Hillbilly Hotdogs Lesage, WV right on the river

I have to go with the guys from Michigan. Koegel's are the best hot dogs.

Never seen/heard of a few of these.
(Must be regional.)
I appreciate the posts/input though. ππ

Over in Rock Springs, Wyoming, there is a local sausage called Kronsky's. Have never seen them more than 20 miles from that town (on the other hand, there isn't anything for farther than that. And I mean NOTHING.) Anyway, it is a dark meat sausage, well spiced, natural casing, not like anything else I've ever had. Tasty things, though.
Oneathesedays, I'll make the drive over there to get some for a family grilling.
Hot dogs? HB for my wife, Oscar Meyer for me -- or just a one dollar special from the truck stop roller rack. "Oh, I wish I were an Oscar Meyer weiner..."
Did I just plant that Oscar Meyer earworm in your head? Bwahahaha!

Coronado dogs, hands (paws?) down.

Hebrew makes a "jumbo" dog. We love the std. size on a poppy seed bun, relish, yellow mustard, onion, small pepper and a pickle sliceπ

We keep Nathans Jumbo in stock around my house at all times.
They really are a good hot dog, but only 5 per package.
You get what you pay for.
